ZEEKR 009 challenged the concrete mixer truck, thinking that it would "overturn", but it taught the joint venture a lesson

Isn't there a saying that a car with a good crash test score is not necessarily really safe. However, a car that fails to perform a crash test must not be safe. However, there are also people who are not very convinced by crash tests, because in their opinion, there is often a difference between "testing" and "real combat". The closer the test is to reality, the more valuable it is to refer to.
On the recent National Traffic Safety Day, ZEEKR cooperated with the China Automotive Center to publicly carry out an incredible challenge. The model participating in the challenge this time is the MPV model Zeekr 009 under ZEEKR, and the content is the "double A-pillar" challenge of the dynamic top of the 30-ton concrete mixer truck.
We all know that large concrete mixer trucks are actually very dangerous. Because of its large mass, high center of gravity, and concentrated pressure, we often see traffic accidents about concrete mixer trucks on the news, especially when they roll over and run over other vehicles. Therefore, the challenge launched by ZEEKR 009 this time is also an egg hitting a stone in the eyes of many people. But the end result, you may not even imagine.
Before the test, the organizers also specially found a small old scooter for testing. When the concrete mixer truck overturned and fell on its side at a slow speed, it can be said that it brought a catastrophe to the old scooter. It can be seen from the scene that the whole vehicle has been deformed with heavy pressure, and the body is in a distorted state. If it weren't for the test, the consequences for the passengers in the car would be unimaginable.
The ZEEKR 009, which followed closely behind, also faced this concrete mixer truck with a body length of 10.38 meters, a width of 2.5 meters, a height of 3.998 meters, and a vehicle weight of 30 tons. After climbing the unilateral bridge, the concrete mixer truck rolled over and pressed to the roof of ZEEKR 009, the center of gravity at this height is actually higher than that of flat driving, so the energy brought by the collision is also greater. But in the final result, in addition to the suspension of ZEEKR 009 under heavy pressure, there is a certain compression and decline, and the vehicle has not undergone obvious structural changes.
In the end, through the inspection, the erosion of the crew compartment of this ZEEKR 009 is not obvious, the chassis air spring can still rebound normally, the bilateral doors and the electric tailgate can still be opened and closed smoothly, the ABC pillar of the whole car has not been obviously complete/dented/broken, and all parts of the dummy in the car have not been injured. If you insist on finding out some losses, it is that the front windshield of ZEEKR 009 has cracked at the angle. Such an achievement may not have been expected by many people at all. However, in the author's opinion, the successful challenge of ZEEKR 009 not only blocked the mouths of many "domestic car black fans", but also taught a lesson to the joint venture MPVs.
Friends who are familiar with the vehicle structure know that MPVs are more "fragile" than sedans and SUVs. Therefore, safety has always been a problem that many car companies cannot overcome, including even many mainstream joint venture car companies. The ZEEKR 009 achieves an unprecedented safety factor for the MPV through the ultimate materials and design. Its main A-pillar is made of 2000MPa ultra-high-strength hot-stamping steel, and its yield strength is twice that of the cylinder used in nuclear submarines.
In addition, the proportion of high-strength steel in the whole vehicle of ZEEKR 009 has reached 71%, which is 10% higher than the highest standard in the industry. Not only that, ZEEKR 009 also uses the world's largest one-piece die-casting rear end aluminum body, and has a body torsional rigidity of up to 36450N·m/deg, and the vehicle stiffness has reached more than three times that of traditional MPVs, which brings rock-solid safety to the occupants in the car. And these exaggerated materials, looking at most MPV models, are unprecedented high standards. Therefore, if you look at it from another angle, it is really the emergence of ZEEKR 009 that really gives these foreign brands a sample. Not only "fight to fame", but also raise the standard of technology and quality in this market segment.
