Judging from the distribution area of the trillion city, the south is far ahead. In terms of provinces, including 4 municipalities directly under the central government (Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Tianjin), Jiangsu (Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Nantong, Changzhou) has 5 trillion cities, Guangdong (Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan) has 4 trillion cities, Zhejiang (Hangzhou, Ningbo), Fujian (Fuzhou, Quanzhou), Shandong (Qingdao, Jinan) each has 2 trillion cities. In addition, there are Chengdu, Wuhan, Changsha, Zhengzhou, Hefei and Xi'an.

After becoming the first province in China with a GDP of more than 12 trillion yuan in 2021, Guangdong will approach 13 trillion yuan in 2022, reaching 12,911.858 billion yuan. Ranked among the trillion-level cities

What did Changzhou do right?

It is true that it is not uncommon to have one more trillion city, but Changzhou has made great strides into the "trillion club" with its non-dominant geographical area and population, and its development efficiency is indeed amazing.

"Crossing the trillion-level threshold is the inevitable result of Changzhou's industrial layout and accumulation over the past decades. Hu Xiaowu, executive dean of the Institute of Urban Sciences of Nanjing University, said that in recent years, Changzhou has been developing steadily and continuously at a high growth rate, which is also due to the city's remarkable achievements on the new track. "From the rapid development of the manufacturing industry to the unique development of the photovoltaic industry, and then to the dominance of new energy vehicles and their supporting industries, Changzhou can always seize the domestic and even global outlets. ”

Manufacturing is the thickest foundation and the most distinctive background color in Changzhou. The key to Changzhou's development is to firmly guard the "roots" of the manufacturing industry.

The complete industrial categories and industrial system make the construction of Changzhou a new energy capital a matter of course. Driving growth, Changzhou has played the trump card of "new energy".

Tracing the development of the new energy industry in ordinary state, the 50s of the last century began to get involved in transformer manufacturing, the wire and cable industry began to take shape in the 80s, the photovoltaic industry started in an all-round way at the beginning of this century, and began to try power batteries around 2010...... This is inseparable from Changzhou's solid industrial foundation.

Those who do not seek the overall situation are not enough to seek a domain. On the basis of development, Changzhou has built a new energy industry chain structure of "2+5+N" (two vehicle companies + 5 power battery manufacturers + many upstream and downstream parts enterprises), and also issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of a New Energy Capital" and "Policies and Measures for Changzhou to Promote the Construction of a New Energy Capital" at the beginning of 2023, sounding the clarion call to build Changzhou into a leading Yangtze River Delta, a national leader, and a globally influential "new energy capital".

It can be said that it is the keen vision and perfect supporting policies that make Changzhou, the "dream factory", continue to take advantage of the momentum.
