The charging head network purchased a 66W all-round charger from Huawei, which has a white body and fixed national standard pins. The charger supports a wide voltage input of 100-240V, and the output terminal is equipped with USB-C and USB-A fusion ports, supports 66W UFCS fusion fast charging, and supports 65W PD fast charging and PPS fast charging, in addition to Huawei SCP and FCP fast charging.
USB-C and Converged USB-A ports can use the USB-A cable to charge older devices, or you can use the USB-C cable to quickly charge your phone or laptop. The converged interface is designed to choose one of two and can only be used by a single interface. Let's bring a teardown of Huawei's 66W all-in-one charger, and take a look at the internal design and materials.
Huawei 66W all-in-one charger unboxing
The packaging box adopts Huawei's usual pure white design, with the three-dimensional appearance of the product and the accompanying charging cable icon printed on the front, the product name and model printed in the upper left corner, the Huawei brand logo printed in the upper right corner, and the words "HUAWEI Super Charge" printed in the lower right corner.
The back of the box is printed with an inscription on the product specifications and a special selling point.

When you open the package, in addition to the charger itself, it comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, an instruction manual and a warranty card manual.
The wire rod is also designed with a white color scheme, and is bundled and fixed with an environmentally friendly paper shell.
The shell and body of the wire are made of PC material, and the word "6A" is printed on the shell.
The length of the cable is about 101cm.
The POWER-Z KM003C tester is used to read the E-marker information of the data cable, and the measured cable supports 20V5A 100W power transmission and USB 2.0 file transfer specifications.
The HUAWEI 66W all-in-one charger is made of PC flame-retardant shell material, the overall body is pure white color scheme, the shell is smooth and shiny, and the words "HUAWEI Super Charge" and "66W" are printed on the front.

Huawei 66W all-in-one charger disassembled
After reading the appearance and protocol test of Huawei's charger, let's disassemble it and take a look at the internal design and materials.
First of all, pry open the side panel of the charger output, and found that the internal PCBA module could not be removed, so the shell was cut open with a cutting machine and continued to be disassembled.
Take out the internal PCBA module.
Foam insulation is pasted inside the housing.

The front end of the PCBA module is filled with thermally conductive adhesive to seal and fix, and the module is covered with a brass heat sink.
The components on the other side of the PCBA module are also glued and reinforced, and a white plastic isolation board is used for isolation between the primary stages.
The back elements of the PCBA module are also glued to strengthen the insulation.
The length of the PCBA module measured by vernier calipers is about 46.6mm.
The width of the PCBA module is about 45.6mm.
The thickness of the PCBA module is about 24mm.
Remove the brass heat sink covered on the surface of the PCBA module, and paste foam between the inside of the heat sink and the high-voltage capacitor.
Clean off the potting compound, the front of the PCBA module is at a glance, and the upper left corner is the input fuse, varistor, NTC thermistor, and EMI filter inductor. The upper part is welded with a rectifier bridge, a differential mode inductor, a lower welded high-voltage filter capacitor, a primary switch tube, a flat transformer at the bottom, a Y capacitor on the right side, a fusion interface and a filter solid capacitor.
A glance at the back of the PCBA module, soldering the main control chip and feedback optocoupler, and inserting the isolation board insulation between the primary stages.
Through the observation of the charger PCBA module, it is found that Huawei's 66W all-in-one charger adopts a design architecture of switching power supply with wide-range voltage output, and the secondary protocol chip controls the output voltage through optocoupler feedback. Let's start with the input to understand the information of each component one by one.

The fuse is from Bet Electronics, the discharge number is 932, and the specification is 2.5A 250V.
The varistor wraps the heat shrink tubing for insulation.
The varistor is from STE Matsuda Electronics and has a specification of 10D681K.
NTC thermistors are also insulated with heat shrink tubing.
The 5D9 thermistor is used to suppress inrush currents at power-up.
The common mode inductor is insulated with heat shrinkable tubing, and the bottom is welded with an insulating bracket.
Yellow Y capacitors, rectifier bridges, common mode inductors and fuses are soldered on the side of the PCBA module.
The rectifier bridge is from Pingwei, the model is D8KBR10A, and the specification is 8A 1000V.
Differential mode inductors are insulated with heat shrink tubing.
The three high-voltage filter capacitors are from Aihua, which are HS series 115°C electrolytic capacitors with a specification of 400V 27μF.
The other high-voltage capacitor is 400V 16μF.

The filter capacitor that supplies power to the main control chip comes from Fengbin, and the specification is 10μF63V.
The primary switch tube is provided with a heat sink.
The primary switch is from Silan Micro, model SVSP14N65FJHE2, NMOS, withstand voltage 650V, conduction resistance is 260mΩ, and TO220F package is used.

The planar transformer is welded on the side of the PCBA module, and the transformer core is insulated with a plastic shell.

The synchronous rectifier tube is from Leshan Radio, model LN76076HDT1WG, NMOS, withstand voltage 100V, conduction resistance 7.6mΩ, and is in a DFN5060-8B package.
The other synchronous rectifier tube is of the same model.
The safety Y capacitor comes from Fenghua Hi-Tech, which is a CT7 series series Y capacitor.
The LTV-1008 optocoupler is used for output voltage feedback regulation.
The output is welded with filtered solid-state capacitors and fusion interfaces.
One filter capacitor from CapXon is a PT series 125°C heat-resistant solid capacitor with a specification of 560μF 25V.
One output filter capacitor is from PolyCap, which is a RQ series 125°C heat-resistant solid capacitor with a specification of 470μF 25V.
The other filtered solid-state capacitor is 560μF 25V.
The protocol chip comes from Yichong Semiconductor, model CPS8841, is a highly integrated USB PD3.0 protocol chip, integrated PPS fast charging, and supports UFCS fusion fast charging and Huawei SCP fast charging and other charging protocols. The chip integrates constant voltage and constant current control, supports I2C communication, and the addition of 3 GPIO pins makes it more flexible.
CPS8841 in QFN4x4 package, input voltage range 3-22V, easy to flush CPS8841 Integrated VCONN power supply, E-Marker cable recognition, configurable cable impedance compensation, integrated NMOS driver, NMOS can be used as a VBUS switch. The chip has built-in programmable overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, etc., and the functions are very comprehensive.

Two silk-screen S418N switches are used for USB-C and USB-A interface output control of the converged interface.
Fusion interface jacket reinforced with metal sheets.

The fusion interface is fixed by via welding, and two TVS tubes are welded on a small board for electrostatic protection.

Summary of the dismantling of the charging head network
Huawei's 66W all-in-one charger uses a converged interface and supports USB-C and USB-A cables. The charger adopts a white body and is equipped with national standard fixed pins, which supports a wide voltage input of 100-240V. The tested charger has 65W PD fast charging and PPS fast charging, and also supports 66W UFCS fusion fast charging, Huawei SCP and FCP fast charging, meeting the fast charging needs of mainstream devices.
