As early as twenty or thirty years ago, there was an industry in China to restore old films, but Lin Zeyi and his team learned through in-depth understanding of film production units that the restoration technology in the early years had shortcomings such as low efficiency, mediocre results, and high costs. In order to solve these pain points, the team decided to choose the direction of "rejuvenation", that is, to replace human labor with artificial intelligence, so as to speed up the repair process.
