According to the official determination of the China Earthquake Network, a 5.0-magnitude earthquake occurred in the sea area of Hualien County, Taiwan at 10:40 on April 21, with an epicenter depth of 20 kilometers and an epicenter at 23.49 degrees north latitude and 121.60 degrees east longitude, about 9 kilometers away from Taiwan Island.
