In September 1917, Xie Hanguang was born in an ordinary rural family in Fengshun County, Guangdong.
There are a total of 11 siblings in the family, and he is the second in rank, and he has been a teenager since he was a child.
When he was a child, Xie Hanguang was smart and sensible, loved reading very much, and was admitted to a key middle school under very difficult conditions.
At that time, he wanted to apply for the law major of the university, but this major was abolished and he was transferred to the College of Agriculture of National Guangxi University to study forestry.
Because the Japanese army broke through Guangdong, many patriots brought teachers and students to Guangxi University.
Therefore, the faculty of Guangxi University at this time was very strong, and Xie Hanguang came into contact with many patriotic teachers with advanced ideas.
Under the influence of the teachers' thoughts, his patriotic enthusiasm was stimulated, and he had the enthusiasm to save the world.
At the same time, he also met many like-minded classmates, such as Liang Zhengqing, Chen Zhonghao and Zhang Bozhe.
These high-spirited students often participated in anti-Japanese patriotic marches and anti-war activities, and they had long since become staunch revolutionaries.
After graduating from university in July 1942, Xie Hanguang returned to his hometown of Puzhai Town to take care of his parents and younger siblings.
Subsequently, he met Zeng Xiuping, a female student who fled from Jiexi County, a neighboring county, and soon became husband and wife.
Only 9 days after marriage, Xie Hanguang was invited by his classmates to work at Liuzhou Farm in Guilin, Guangxi, and became the director of the farm.
At that time, he did not know that his wife was pregnant, and it was not until after the birth of his son Xie Dingwen that he brought his family to Guilin to live because the Japanese army began to invade Jiexi.
During his time in Guilin, Xie Hanwen actively provided shelter and farm work for revolutionaries and anti-Japanese elements, helping many people to overcome difficulties, and a group of people formed a deep friendship, which led to his contact with the Chinese Communist Party.
Helplessly, in November 1944, Guilin was also captured by the Japanese army, and the group continued to flee, relying on teaching in local schools to make a living.
Fortunately, in 1945, Japan officially announced its surrender, and everyone's pressure was eased.
Soon after, Hsieh became the director of the Taiwan Provincial Forestry Laboratory as a professor at Guangxi University.
The professor thought of his student and invited him to work in Taiwan.
At that time, Xie Hanguang did not know what Taiwan would become, but he felt that this was a good way out.
So he was ready to accept the invitation, took his wife and children to Hong Kong, and landed in Taiwan.
But here, he suddenly received a request to change his life.
Latent Taiwan
It turned out that the organization of the South China Branch of the Communist Party of China in Hong Kong at that time heard about Xie Hanguang's movements and wanted to give him a difficult task.
The person in charge of the organization trusted him very much, knew that he was a progressive intellectual, and knew many young patriots.
The organization had already predicted that Taiwan would become the last refuge of the Kuomintang, so it was ready to send people to lurk in advance.
Xie Hanguang's teacher is a high-ranking official in Taiwan, and it will be much more convenient to arrange for his own people to serve in it in the future.
After Xie Hanguang heard that the organization had entrusted him with such an important task, he quickly agreed.
Subsequently, he asked his wife to return to his hometown alone with the children.
When they parted, Xie Hanguang said helplessly: "You take your children back to your hometown to live, my job here has changed a little, and I can't take you to Taiwan." There may be a long time when you won't be able to contact me, so don't worry, take care of yourself. ”

When Zeng Xiuping heard her husband say this, she also vaguely guessed something in her heart, but she did not complain and returned to her hometown to become a teacher.
Later, in order to give her children a better life, she moved back to her parents' home and started a business.
At this time, Xie Hanguang had already taken a plane to Taiwan with a female comrade arranged by the organization to pretend to be a husband and wife.
Soon after he came to Taiwan, he was entrusted with important tasks by his teacher, and as a result, he arranged for a large number of underground party members to serve.
Among these comrades, many were former classmates of Xie Hanguang at Guangxi University.
For example, Chen Zhonghao, Xu Maode and others were arranged to teach in Keelung Middle School; Liang Zhengqing became a technician at the Animal Disease Serum Manufacturing Institute of the Agriculture and Forestry Department; Zhang Bozhe arranged to serve as the section chief of the Forestry Experimental Institute.

Due to his important organizational contributions, Xie Hanguang officially joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1947.
Cleansing and seclusion
Ever since the Nationalist army was losing ground on the frontal battlefield, the Kuomintang Secrecy Bureau determined that there were high-level spies in the party to provide intelligence to the Communist army.
On October 31, 1949, the Secrecy Bureau cracked a copy of the Guangming Daily in Keelung Middle School, which published an article "Prepare for the Liberation of Taiwan" published by the underground party lurking in Taiwan.
Chiang Kai-shek was furious at this, and the Secret Bureau also dug up many comrades in the underground organization one after another.
Chen Zhonghao and Xu Maode, who were arranged in Keelung Middle School, were the first to be exposed, and in order to protect them, it took a lot of effort to send them back to the mainland.
But after that, with the martial law in Taiwan, it will be more difficult to return to the mainland than to ascend to the sky.
On January 29, 1950, Tsai Hsiao-chien, the head of the Chinese Communist Party in Taiwan, was arrested, and then he failed to resist the torture of the spies, and confessed a large number of hidden personnel, including Lieutenant General Wu Shih, deputy chief of staff of Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense.
As a result of the catastrophe, more than 400 underground party members were arrested, more than 1,800 were implicated, and the CCP organization in Taiwan was completely ignored.
Zhang Bozhe, who was the head of the forestry laboratory, also realized the seriousness of the problem, and wrote a letter with 30 yuan, warning Xie Hanguang to hide immediately, but he himself was unfortunately arrested.
After Xie Hanguang got the news, he immediately left the Lianhuachi branch of the Forestry Laboratory and went to the Zhongpu branch of Chiayi County to hide.
A few days later, a worker said that he found six criminal police officers searching and taking him from the lotus pond, and he finally realized that he had been completely exposed.
Xie Hanguang fled all the way, trying to find the former members of the organization to discuss countermeasures, only to find that almost everyone was arrested.
Therefore, he had no choice but to follow the advice put forward by Zhang Bozhe in the letter and fled to the Taitung Forest Farm Forestry Improvement Station.
At that time, near the forest farm, Xie Hanguang met a farmer named Yang Xibo, who had to ask him to take him in because he was thirsty and hungry and unable to escape.
He lied that he was a deserter from the national army, and that he had fled here without a hukou and could not make a living.
The old peasant took pity on him, first took him home and settled him, and then moved him to the mountains 20 miles away.
The village chief heard that a suspicious person had been found in the village and wanted to report Xie Hanguang to the public.
In the end, Xie Hanguang bribed the village chief with the two gold rings he was wearing, and he picked up a life.
The village chief asked him to disguise himself as Ye Yikui, a Gaoshan farmer who had been missing in the village for a year, and applied for a new identity and household registration, and since then he has lived in seclusion in the forest farm.
Many people in the village saw him as educated, smart and diligent, and were always willing to introduce him to marriage, but they were all rejected by Xie Hanguang.
He has lived alone for 38 years, and during this time, Xie Hanguang has been thinking about his wife and son all the time.

On the day he learned the news, he took out his ID card and went to the relevant departments to apply for returning to his hometown.
It wasn't until a year later that his application passed the review and was finally approved to go home.

In 1994, Mr. Xu happened to work at Tianjin's Taiwan office, and in 1994 he wrote a letter to Chen Zhonghao, who was the director of a library at Shantou University.
The two not only came to Guangdong excitedly to visit this old classmate, but also found relevant supporting materials for this comrade-in-arms and reported them directly to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
In May 1995, under the guidance of a central leader, the Organization Department of the Fengshun County Party Committee issued a document reinstating Xie Hanguang's identity.
The county civil affairs bureau also went through the formalities for his retirement and began to issue generous retirement subsidies.
