J-20 VS F-16V: A potential clash of air force aircraft in the Taiwan Strait, in fact, the outcome has been predestined in advance

At present, the arsenal of the Taiwan (provincial) air force lacks fifth-generation military aircraft with stealth performance like the F-35 Joint Strike/Fighter. From the point of view of military capabilities, this fact highlights the limitations of its air force capabilities.

In response to a possible air encounter with the J-20 of the mainland Air Force, the Taiwan (provincial) administration previously spent $8 billion to order 66 F-16V block 70 fourth-generation and a half fighters.

At the same time, the Taiwan (provincial) Air Force is preparing to upgrade the 141 obsolete F-16A/B block 20s in service, transforming them into a level of performance close to the cutting-edge F-16V block 70 fighters.

The J-20 is the absolute main fighter of the Continental Air Force and can be called the leader of the world's fifth-generation stealth fighters. It is known worldwide for its advanced active phased array radar capabilities and sophisticated electronics, as well as its seamlessly integrated weapon management system.

Its well-designed T/R chip gallium nitride radar is technically ahead of the gallium arsenide active phased array radar commonly equipped in European countries, which can detect targets hundreds of kilometers away and take the lead in launching long-range missile attacks on locked high-threat targets.

J-20 has a built-in bomb bay in the belly, which can carry 4-6 "Thunderbolt"-15 long-range air-to-air missiles, which are equipped with active radar missiles on the body, with a maximum range of more than 200 kilometers, further consolidating the J-20's air supremacy combat capability.

The wings are close to the fuselage, and side bomb bays are set up, which can hide and launch two "Thunderbolt"-10 infrared-guided air-to-air missiles, and the maximum range of this combat missile is nearly 60 kilometers, which is one of the farthest ranges among the world's close-range combat missiles. In terms of its maximum range, the Thunderbolt-10 can actually be called a medium-range air-to-air missile.

Taiwan's (provincial) air force's plan to use the F-16V block 70, a fourth-generation and a half-generation fighter, to deal with the mainland's fifth-generation J-20 stealth fighter, is tantamount to hitting a stone with an egg and an act of indiscretion.

From the relevant programs disclosed by CCTV, the mainland air force piloted the J-20 stealth fighter, which has long been close to the airspace of Taiwan (province), and has even crossed the sky over the motherland's treasure island.

In the course of several bomb-and-bomb cruises around the island of Taiwan, neither the ground radar deployed by the island's air defense department nor the F-16A/B block 20 fighter jet that took off into the air captured the radar signal of the J-20 stealth fighter.

In the vast panorama of military capabilities, the infrastructure of the Air Force of Taiwan (Province) is dwarfed by the Air Force of the People's Liberation Army of Chinese. This difference is not limited to its lack of stealth fighters, but the serious shortcomings of the entire offensive and defensive system, which for a long time could not compete with the J-20 stealth fighters of the Continental Air Force.

F-16V block 70 fighters, capable of modifying advanced AIM-9X "Sidewinder" air-to-air missiles in close combat for close defensive operations; Mounted AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles, which are used to perform strikes against sea targets.

However, Taiwan's (provincial) air force is counting on using the fourth-and-a-half-generation fighter to "go head-to-head" with the fifth-generation stealth fighter J-20 to expand their strategic value, and the possibility of winning is very slim and doomed to be whimsical.

The Taiwan (provincial) Air Force uses F-16V block 70 fighters, and intends to upgrade F-16A/B block 20 fighters with performance close to F-16V block 70 to fight against the elusive J-20 fighters that have reached 300 in the scale of the mainland Air Force's equipment.

Netizens with relevant military knowledge estimate that they can think of it on their toes, and they really don't understand where the Taiwan (provincial) Air Force doesn't know where it comes from. The mainland has long passed the years when the J-7 and J-8 were the main players, and the era of the F-16A/B block 20 forming absolute air superiority over the continental air force has long ended.

Now, relevant foreign military media have said that once the situation between the two sides of the strait becomes tense, the encounter between the F-16V block 70, which is equipped with the APG-83 active electronically scanning array radar, and the fifth-generation fighter of the mainland's J-20, may be inevitable, but the outcome is already doomed in advance.
