New energy vehicles were once considered to be the future development trend of the automotive field, and many car companies in various countries have begun to accelerate their transformation, and the market penetration rate of new energy vehicles is also increasing. Although Continental started late in the field of traditional fuel vehicles, it began to lay out in the field of new energy vehicles very early, and the subsequent development is also very rapid.
Under the influence of factors such as the vigorous promotion and the rapid development of domestic new energy vehicle technology, many domestic users have begun to give priority to the purchase of new energy vehicles, especially in the field of online car-hailing. This has further led to the continuous increase in the penetration rate of new energy in the domestic automobile market. According to the data released by the Passenger Association, the wholesale penetration rate of new energy has reached 50.19%, which also means that more than half of the users choose to buy new energy vehicles.
In general, the shipments and market share of domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers such as BYD and Weilai continue to increase, and the sales of some foreign fuel vehicle manufacturers in the domestic market have been greatly affected, especially the Japanese cars with a high share in the domestic market.
In fact, since around 2020, the sales and market share of Japanese car brands such as Toyota and Honda in the Chinese market have begun to decrease year by year.
However, since the end of February this year, domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers have also begun to reduce the price of many popular models, attracting a large number of consumers to buy. Under the leadership of BYD, the prelude to the wave of price reductions of new energy vehicles has begun, which has also led to the fact that the way of reducing the price of Japanese cars to obtain customers is not feasible.
As the leader of Japanese cars, Toyota can be said to have been strong before, and the impact on market share is not high, coupled with the good reputation brought by years of deep cultivation in the Chinese market, it can be regarded as maintaining the situation. But now sales have continued to decline, and even preparations are ready to withdraw some factories from Chinese mainland.
In fact, the United States and the West have always wanted to prevent the development of the mainland in the field of new energy vehicles, for example, Japanese car companies have repeatedly said that electric vehicles are not new energy vehicles in the real sense, the United States has restricted the electric vehicles and power batteries of Chinese companies from entering the American market, and the European Union has launched a so-called "countervailing investigation", which is essentially trying to set up trade barriers. After that, the United States and the West invariably began to slow down the development of new energy vehicles.
However, judging from the market penetration rate of 50.39% of new energy vehicles, the purpose of the United States and the West has basically failed.
On the one hand, the penetration rate is further improving, which means that more consumers are choosing new energy vehicles. On the other hand, the goal that Continental plans to achieve in 2035 has been completed eleven years ahead of schedule, which shows that new energy vehicles are more popular with consumers than expected, and more people are beginning to "vote" with practical actions.
There is no doubt that driven by market demand, the relevant technology of the new energy vehicle industry will also be further improved and developed, under the influence of a variety of factors, today's new energy vehicles have surpassed fuel vehicles in the fields of intelligence and comfort, and with the development of battery technology, the problem of battery life will be further solved. Some people in the industry even said that it has become an inevitable trend for new energy vehicles to replace fuel vehicles.
