Dynaudio will exclusively debut four new products at this year's Munich Premium Audio Show, showcasing immersive Dolby Atmos professional monitoring systems and flagship car audio.
String song series, and then add a new product
A new addition to the Heritage String Song collection is the Contour Legacy. The 2.5-way case borrows the exterior design of the 2020 Heritage Special and pays homage to the original Contour Floor Case from the 80s and 90s, while incorporating Dynaudio's latest driver technology and acoustic tuning technology.
It features Dynaudio's top-of-the-line 28mm Esotar 3 filament soft dome tweeter (including Hexis' built-in hard dome), dual 18cm woofers from the Classic Evidence Series (which have been finely tuned and optimised), and a carefully selected crossover made of premium components.
Handcrafted at Dynaudio's headquarters in Scanaburg, Contour Legacy is made from renewable, eco-friendly American walnut wood, with each finish carefully selected and textured to ensure each pair is unique.
Limited to 1,000 pairs worldwide, each pair is individually numbered and will be treasured for generations to come.
Confident and energetic
The new Confidence 20A is the active version of Dynaudio's flagship Confidence 20 bookshelf case. Users only need to plug in a preamplifier or use a source with volume control.
The Confidence 20A has a simple design with the amplifier hidden in the stand, the setting controls on the back, and the connection between analog and digital signals via XLR connectors. It's an ultra-simple way to enjoy Dynaudio's top-notch listening experience.
The amplifier for the Confidence 20A is supplied by Pascal, who is also the amplifier module supplier for Dynaudio's Core series of reference professional monitors, giving the Confidence 20A a studio-like sound performance. In terms of DSP (Digital Signal Processing), users can freely configure optimization methods such as room boundary compensation filters, input sensitivity, and tone balance.
Because the Confidence 20A is directly derived from the design concept of professional monitor loudspeakers, users get the purest digital signal path possible, which is essential in high-end studios. There is also the option to turn off sample rate conversion to make the signal pass-through, and on for optimal compatibility with digital sources.
All in all, this is top-of-the-line technology for audiophiles who are looking for the extreme.
Silhouette family, new colorways
A new addition to Dynaudio's Classic Contour collection is the Contour 20 Obsidian Premium Edition, the complete evolution of the award-winning Contour 20i.
The tweeter has been upgraded from the excellent Esotar 2i to the all-around Esotar 3, which is also featured in the Heritage Strings and the flagship Confidence series. It features an improved driver and rear chamber design, and the crossover has been completely upgraded. From resistance and capacitance to internal cables and even inductance, they are enhanced.
The Contour 20 Obsidian Premium Edition will feature a mirrored black high-gloss finish that complements the black anodized baffle, the new material-coated tweeter panel, and the mid-woofer frame.
Join hands across continents to write a new chapter
Now, let's get a feel for a very different design style. This bookshelf case is a collaboration between Dynaudio and Karimoku, a well-known home furnishing brand from Tokyo, Japan, and designed by Keiji Ashizawa Design.
The collaboration delves into the aesthetic connection between Denmark and Japan, a style known as "Japandi" design (Japan+Scandi). The two countries share a common denominator in blending minimalist traditions, respect for natural materials, and craftsmanship through handcraft.
The cabinet is made of sustainably harvested oak from Hokkaido, Japan. The timber is dried and pre-treated for three to six months at the Karimoku factory near Nagoya, then carefully cut, assembled, and finally lacquered at the factory in Gifu Prefecture. The subtle touch and natural charm of the design make it tempting to reach for the top and side bevels, while the optional tripod makes the speaker a perfect fit for a high-end, minimalist living room.
The bookshelf speakers are topped by Dynaudio's top-of-the-line Esotar 3 tweeters, while the mid-woofer is the same as the flagship Confidence 20 bookshelf box. Inside the cabinet is Dynaudio's simple yet classic crossover. The entire loudspeaker is thoroughly tested and tuned at Dynaudio's headquarters in Denmark, including an in-depth and comprehensive commissioning in the Jupiter fully automated test arm, which is at the heart of the Dynaudio laboratory.
Although this bookshelf box is not a limited edition, due to its scarcity of production, it is sure to be a one-of-a-kind treasure.
Listen to the ear, the sound is extraordinary
Step inside Dynaudio's Professional Monitor Loudspeaker Zone at MOC and you'll experience the sights and sounds of the Core 5 and Core Sub Compact, the latest additions to the Core Professional Monitor range. A 7.1.4-channel Dolby ATMOS professional monitoring system will be built at the exhibition site, and the audience will be provided with an immersive listening seat, allowing you to enjoy the charm of sound.
In the world of professional audio, immersive audio is becoming increasingly important as streaming services release more and more multichannel and stereo content. However, space in the mixing room is becoming increasingly limited. The Core 5 and Core Sub Compact are designed for these compact use cases.
The king of galloping, the sound leads the trend
HiFi is not limited to the listening room and comfortable seats, but also accounts for a large proportion of the listening while driving. That's why Dynaudio will also be showcasing the Evidence sound system on its U8 luxury electric off-roader. With 22 speakers and an advanced user interface, the system focuses on realism and pleasing sound: as much as possible to the original sound recorded in the studio. You can sit in the Dynaudio booth outside Hall 3 and listen to the sound of the sound system.
More information on new products: availability and pricing
The four new products on display at the Munich Sound Show are all demonstration samples and are expected to go on sale in the second half of 2024, which may be slightly different from those seen on the show floor. The selling price in the Asia Pacific region will be based on when the product is actually marketed.
