On June 1, it was reported that the official pictures of BMW Brilliance's first domestically produced M performance model, the BMW X1 M35Li, were released, and will be unveiled as the world's first model at the 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show.
The BMW X1 M35Li is not only the first M performance car at BMW Brilliance's Shenyang production base, but also co-production with the BMW iX1 and BMW X1. The new car is equipped with a high-power B48 engine with a maximum power of 246kW, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive system, providing the driver with the ultimate driving experience.
In terms of exterior design, the BMW X1 M35Li adopts the iconic "Flame Red" paint of M performance cars, and the front face is designed with M-exclusive longitudinal double-spoke grille, supplemented by a number of blackened trim kits, M-exclusive double-sided exhaust layout, as well as 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels and red calipers, the overall shape is full of dynamics, highlighting the unique style of M series models.
In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the BMW X1 M35Li are 4616mm/1845mm/1627mm, and the wheelbase is 2802mm, which is consistent with the domestic X1, ensuring a spacious interior space and a comfortable driving experience.
In terms of interior design, the BMW X1 M35Li adopts the M sports steering wheel, with a red centering logo at the 12 o'clock position, and the interior trim is also different from the X1, further enhancing the sporty atmosphere. In addition, the new car is equipped with the 9th generation BMW operating system, and the integrated floating curved screen integrates a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch central touch display, which is full of technology.
In terms of configuration, the BMW X1 M35Li is equipped with Level 2+ autonomous driving assistance functions, as well as M-exclusive instrument cluster and head-up display functions, providing drivers with a safer and more convenient driving experience. At the same time, the new car also supports BMW Digital Key Plus, which can easily unlock the vehicle without carrying a traditional key, demonstrating BMW Brilliance's innovation capability in the field of intelligent technology.
In terms of powertrain, the BMW X1 M35Li is equipped with the M TwinPower 2.0T inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine tuned by BMW M, codenamed B48A20H, with a maximum power of 246kW. M TwinPower Turbo technology introduces dual injection technology to significantly improve the performance of the turbocharging system. In terms of drivetrain, the new car adopts a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system to ensure excellent power output and stable driving performance.
BMW said that it will bring nearly 10 performance and high-performance models to China this year, and by the end of this year, the number of M-series models in China is expected to expand to 23, covering compact cars to medium and large luxury cars, covering three drive forms: gasoline, electric and plug-in hybrid, fully meeting the diverse needs of Chinese consumers for high-performance vehicles.
