It is understood that the first batch of consortiums composed of 9 automobile manufacturers and 9 users in mainland China will carry out intelligent networked vehicle access and road access pilots in 7 cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and the pilot products cover three categories: passenger cars, buses and trucks. During the pilot process, safety will be strictly controlled, product testing and safety assessment will be carried out systematically, and the production access management and road traffic safety management system of intelligent networked vehicles will be explored and improved.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that carrying out the pilot of intelligent networked vehicle access and road access is conducive to promoting the function, performance improvement and iterative optimization of the industrial ecology of intelligent networked vehicle products under the premise of ensuring safety, and promoting the high-quality development of the intelligent networked vehicle industry.

In the pilot notice issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other four departments, the reporter also noted that at present, only the selection of the pilot declaration stage has been completed, and it does not mean that the intelligent networked vehicle with automatic driving function has obtained the access permit or registered on the road. In the future, for intelligent networked vehicle products that have obtained access permits, the traffic management department of the public security organ will guide the pilot project to carry out on-road traffic in the limited public road areas of the pilot cities.
