Tongluoba National Forest Park is located in Taiping Town, Shuifu City, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, at the northern foot of Wumeng Mountain in northeast Yunnan, with high terrain in the south and low in the north, belonging to the subtropical humid climate zone, with many evergreen broad-leaved forests and a forest coverage rate of 97.4%, with rich animal and plant resources.

In order to visit the rare animals and plants in Tongluoba, the reporter walked into the Tongluoba National Forest Park and encountered the wild yew, a national first-class protected plant known as the "giant panda of the plant world", in the dense forest. Taxus is an ancient relict species, which has high scientific significance for plant taxonomy and geological research. Paclitaxel extracted from yew is an effective drug for the treatment of ovarian cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, etc., and has high scientific research value.
It is reported that the yew in Tongluoba is the southern yew of the yew family, also known as the beautiful yew, the fir son, the red push, the quince wood, the sea pine, the red leaf metasequoia, etc., is a variant of the yew. Southern yew is an evergreen tree, its trunk is tall and straight, the tree shape is beautiful, the leaves are spirally arranged in two rows, often in the shape of a strip curved sickle, and the fruit is like a red bean hanging on the branches when the seeds are ripe, which is very lovely.
