  According to the WeChat official account of Xinjiang Airport, the current airfield road project is designed according to the target of 300,000 passengers and 600 tons of cargo and mail throughput per year, and the airfield level index is 4C. The main construction content of the airfield project includes the construction of a runway with a length of 2,600 meters and a width of 45 meters, a terminal building of 3,060 square meters and an apron with four stands.

  The Luntai Civil Airport Project is one of the key construction projects of the Autonomous Region and the Civil Aviation Administration of China during the 14th Five-Year Plan. In March 2022, the State Council officially approved the construction of Luntai Civil Airport. In March this year, the preliminary design of the Luntai civil airport project passed the review; In May, the Xinjiang Administration of Civil Aviation approved the preliminary design and budget estimate of the project; On June 14, the project completed the bidding for the airfield road project.

  Luntai County is located in the western part of Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, the middle section of the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains, and the northern edge of the Tarim Basin, with a distance of about 175 kilometers from the highway of Korla City in the east and about 110 kilometers from the highway of Kuqa City in the west.
