Racing driver and development driver Frank Stippler recently set a new record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Audi RS Q8 Performance. The Audi RS Q8 Performance, Audi's most powerful production fuel model, set a new lap record of 20.832 kilometers on the Eiffel Plateau circuit with a time of 7:36.698, and won the title of the fastest production SUV at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, demonstrating Audi's leading position in the field of high-performance vehicles.
The test result was more than 2 seconds faster than the original record-holding model, and back in 2019, the Audi RS Q8 was the fastest production SUV with a lap time of 7:42.243.
For Audi, the Nürburgring Nordschleife is also a testing ground for its high-performance products. Every Audi RS model has a range of 16,000 kilometers in the development phase to ensure an efficient and stable ride in extreme conditions.
According to Rolf Mikel, Managing Director of Audi Sport AG, the new lap record demonstrates the excellent interplay of the V8 engine and suspension components, and that the Audi RS Q8 Performance with optimised self-locking centre differential delivers strong driving dynamics and excellent everyday use.
The Audi RS Q8 has class-leading interior lateral space, headroom surpasses that of traditional coupe SUVs, and is equipped with Wagner leather sports seats that support massage and ventilation, and rear seats that can be slid forward and backward. It is understood that the Audi RS Q8 Performance is expected to land in the domestic market in 2025.
