The main ingredient of Melyra is Revysol (chlorofluoroconazole), which is unique in the crop protection market due to its unique properties. BASF emphasizes that Revysol, in combination with Power Flex technology, provides superior control efficiency and flexibility, improving selectivity and efficiency against fungal pathogens in crops.

Melyra's formula also includes pyraclostrobin, which works by inhibiting complex III in the mitochondria. Combined with good agricultural practices, Melyra is able to provide highly selective protective and therapeutic effects at different stages of fungal pathogen development. This innovative recipe is one of the results of an annual investment of around €900 million in BASF's R&D division, and is an important tool for increasing the yield and quality of citrus growing.

As one of the world's top three citrus producers, Brazil's citrus industry has an important impact on the global market. According to the Fundecitrus Foundation, the 2023/24 season is expected to produce 307.22 million boxes of oranges, each weighing 40.8 kilograms. BASF said that the Brazilian citrus industry must have access to the most advanced technology to support market growth. The launch of Melyra will be an effective tool to deal with citrus growing diseases.
