FAW Toyota plans to invest CNY 4.257 billion at its Changchun plant to introduce the sixth-generation RAV4 model, codenamed FTCF 312D. The planned annual production capacity of the plant will reach 165,000 units, while maintaining the plant's total annual production capacity of 294,000 units. The entire construction period is expected to last 18 months, and the new model is expected to be officially launched in 2025.
The next-generation RAV4 will be mainly available in diesel-electric hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. Specifically, the annual production capacity of the gasoline version will be reduced from 123,800 units to 65,300 units, while the annual production capacity of the diesel-electric hybrid version will be increased from 58,500 units to 117,000 units. The plug-in hybrid version remained stable, with an annual production capacity of 24,200 units.
In terms of design, the all-new RAV4 Rongfang is expected to be lengthened in size, referring to the design style of the 9th-generation Camry made in China. The new model will feature the latest family-style design and will feature a large central display. The built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip will provide powerful processing power, and the in-vehicle system will also add functions such as voice assistant and Huawei HiCar interconnection to provide users with a richer interactive experience.
In terms of power version, the all-new RAV4 Rongfang is expected to offer three power options: 2.0L fuel, 2.0L petrol-electric hybrid, and 2.5L petrol-electric hybrid. Among them, the Shuangqing E+ model may continue to use a 2.5L plug-in hybrid system to meet the market's demand for a high-efficiency powertrain.
