On the occasion of the opening of the "Rhyme and Harmony of Wanjing" Music Zhenwen and Zhang Chi Art Exhibition, I would like to send my heartfelt congratulations.
Over the past 20 years, Le Zhenwen and Zhang Chi have been two Chinese painters I trust the most, with their unpretentious and honest and trustworthy character.
Their attitude towards painting is like that of human beings, honest, generous, and diligent. While acquiring solid traditional techniques, they are not bound by them, and strive to try and explore new methods of expression. This is something that many painters are striving for, but there are very few painters who can naturally achieve this height.

The basis for the works of the two artists began in 1977. Forty-seven years of relationship, while traveling hand in hand, while integrating into the "world" of his heart.
I came to Japan in 1987 and experienced the vivid colors of the four seasons of Japan, blending into and nourishing the cultural scenery in our daily lives, and then sketched around the world, and in 2019 I went to Antarctica. The accumulated depth of life and art is revealed to the picture through the sensibility of the two.
In 1977, Le Zhenwen Zhang Chi sketched in Huangshan
Le Zhenwen, when he picked up the pen and faced the white rice paper, gradually the image would emerge from his mind, so he slowly enjoyed the process of the gradual appearance of the image through the traces of pen and ink, and expressed and cultivated the picture with "raising".
At this time, without all distractions and artificiality, and the traditional constraints and obsessions cannot control him, in this way, in a state of nature that belongs to him, the artist's comprehensive cultivation and response to sensibility and stability will produce his unique expression schema.
At this time, ink or color can be easily controlled by him, and the rigorous landscape interacts with the fantasy ideas in the artist's chest like nature. Le Zhenwen's unique new landscape world came into being.
From "Trickle" and "Autumn Rain" to "Wandering in the Sky" and "Straight Up to the Floating Clouds", the depth of its expression and the systematization of its form have gradually improved.

"The world full of energy is dancing with its pen. As Zhang Chi said, she depicts a landscape world full of "charm" and energy, presenting an infinite vastness in a limited space.
The 20-meter-long scroll of "Range Rover at Sea" displayed at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo is a modern version of "Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival", and the 70-meter-long scroll of "Range Rover at Sea" was completed ten years later and was collected by the Shanghai History Museum as a gift for the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
Recently, she created a monumental work of her hometown of Shanghai, "Spring Dawn on the Suhe River", which depicts a vibrant and energetic metropolis, depicting the temperament, character and demeanor of the city.
After that, he began to embark on the adventure of "city" and "landscape". After 15 years, the city is depicted like a landscape. "Mount Huang, Mount Emei and Shanghai are all the same universe." Indeed, the energy of "qi" itself makes no difference between mountains and cities.
Although the use of warm colors is still in the experimental stage, what can be seen in "City Lights" is "the world of Huaguang reflected in the heart", an energy playground and a soul habitat, showing the direction of sublimation of urban energy. I'm really looking forward to the future.

Le Zhenwen and Zhang Chi also played an important role in the exchange of ink painting between China and Japan. They deepened the exchange between Chinese and Japanese ink painters and influenced each other.
In 2010, an exchange exhibition of Sino-Japanese ink painting was held in Shanghai. They were very easy-going, and they were able to draw in front of the students at Gakushuin University, where I worked, and conveyed the charm of ink painting. Through bits and pieces of artistic activities to promote the development of the world of ink painting, they generously put all their energy into it.
I hope that the two artists can support each other, stimulate each other, paint excellent works, and devote themselves to the development of international ink painting.
