TDR Arbiter is a frequency-specific spectrum balancer. This audio plug-in is absolute level agnostic and is the ideal solution for a wide range of typical audio mixing, restoration, and mastering challenges. Whether it's detonic, attenuating accents, or correcting a wide range of frequency balance issues, the algorithm's level-independent nature enables convincing musical effects to be achieved in the shortest possible time and maintained throughout the mixing process.

Up to three frequency bands can be specified, which are bell-shaped, flat-topped and traditional shelves. Arbiter supports both positive (up) and negative (down) control ranges to intuitively control the dynamic frequency balancing of the signal. The TDR Elliptical filter is specifically designed to control the stereo width of the low frequencies. The TDR Elliptical filter works on a stereo differential channel. They have important applications in disk mastering and any situation where you need to control the amount of positional information in a mix.

Unlike traditional Elliptical filters, this filter features continuously variable slopes, minimum and linear phase modes, and dry-mix control. Various compensation options, from dynamic bumps on the harmonic generator to "Haas delays", allow the operator to creatively offset the subjective energy losses that come with filtering and/or stereo to mono summing.

TDR Ultrasonic filters are designed to control the accumulation of ultrasonic content in an oversampled recording, processing, or playback chain. The aim is to prevent ultrasound waves from entering the nonlinear system.

Examples of nonlinear systems include peak limiters, creative distortion devices, compressors, and other forms of modulation. Analog capture devices, such as tape recorders and disc cutting systems, can also exhibit non-linear behavior, as do all replay systems, albeit to a lesser extent.

The total distortion produced by a nonlinear system increases as the bandwidth of the input signal increases. This is true for both audible and inaudible content, and applies throughout the production process: a narrowband mono signal such as a guitar or vocals can artistically withstand huge distortion, while a wideband mix requires only the slightest saturation and falls apart aurally.

This is because nonlinearity produces not only harmonic distortion, but also intermodulation distortion, which is a largely non-harmonic distortion. This form of distortion creates a new bias on the sum and difference of the original bias frequencies. As a result, these new crossovers end up going beyond or below the source frequency, which can go into the audible bandwidth.

TDR Ultrasonic controls the same effect over a larger scale. It non-destructively reduces the intermodulation distortion caused by the entry of ultrasonic content into a nonlinear device.

The freely resizable user interface gives the user intuitive access to all traditional filter parameters and a range of fancy features such as dynamic ultrasonic gates, infinite attenuation performed at Nyquist, and a clever "all bypass" feature that allows for A/B testing of ultrasonic filter effects throughout the mix.
