According to the latest intra-party statistics from the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the total number of members of the Communist Party of China was 99.185 million by the end of 2023, a net increase of 1.144 million over the previous year. There were 5.176 million grassroots party organizations, a net increase of 111,000 over the previous year. The total number of party members increased steadily. The total number of party members increased by 1.2% over the previous year. There were 2.408 million party members in the whole year, of which 1.276 million were in the production and work lines, accounting for 53.0%; 1.280 million with college degree or above, accounting for 53.1%; 1.983 million were aged 35 and below, accounting for 82.4%.
The structure of the party member team continues to be optimized. By the end of 2023, there were 55.786 million party members with college degree or above, accounting for 56.2 percent, an increase of 1.5 percentage points over the previous year, 30.185 million female party members, accounting for 30.4 percent, an increase of 0.5 percentage points over the previous year, and 7.592 million party members from ethnic minorities, accounting for 7.7 percent, an increase of 0.1 percentage points over the previous year. Workers and peasants are still the main part of the party ranks, accounting for 33.0 percent of the total.
The education and management of party members have been continuously strengthened. Party organizations at all levels carried out in-depth education on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthened the education and training of Party members, held a total of 1.266 million training courses throughout the year, and Party committees at or above the county level concentrated on rotating training 6.173 million Party secretaries of grass-roots Party organizations. Gender, ethnicity and educational background of Party members. There were 30.185 million female party members, accounting for 30.4% of the total number of party members. There were 7.592 million ethnic minority party members, accounting for 7.7 percent. There were 55.786 million party members with college degree or above, accounting for 56.2%.
The age of the party member. There were 12.412 million party members aged 30 and below, 11.196 million party members aged 31 to 35, 10.864 million party members aged 36 to 40, 9.459 million party members aged 41 to 45, 9.071 million party members aged 46 to 50, 9.405 million party members aged 51 to 55, 8.907 million party members aged 56 to 60, and 27.872 million party members aged 61 and above.
The time when the party member joined the party. 68,000 joined the Party before the founding of the People's Republic of China, 12.863 million joined the Party after the founding of the People's Republic of China and before the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, 60.142 million joined the Party after the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and before the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and 26.112 million joined the Party since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

3. Intra-party commendations
In 2023, party organizations at all levels across the country will commend 138,000 advanced grassroots party organizations, 693,000 outstanding communist party members, and 199,000 outstanding party workers. 4. Application for Party membership

Party organizations in urban streets, townships, communities, and administrative villages. Party organizations have been established in 9,125 urban streets, 29,620 townships, 119437 communities, and 488959 administrative villages across the country, with a coverage rate of more than 99.9 percent.
Party organizations of government organs, public institutions, enterprises, and social organizations. There are 771,000 grass-roots party organizations in government organs, 997,000 grass-roots party organizations in public institutions, 1.600 million grass-roots party organizations in enterprises, and 183,000 grass-roots party organizations in social organizations.
