7. The worst air crash in human history

On 27 March 1977, the Canary Islands were the scene of the worst air crash in human history, a record that was not broken until 2001 by the 911 attacks.

At that time, two Boeing 747 jumbo planes full of passengers collided at high speed on the runway of the airport and caught fire and exploded, killing nearly 600 people, known as the "Tenerife air disaster".
