Play with the seat layout

LEVC L380 is a medium and large pure electric MPV, with a body size of 5316*1998*1940mm and a wheelbase of 3185mm. In fact, just looking at the body size and wheelbase, you may come to the conclusion that "this car doesn't seem to be too big". And look at the configuration, although the L380 is also full of configurations, there should be everything, but at least from the two aspects of appearance size and configuration, it is actually not far from other cars of the same level, and most of the others it has it.

But L380 is actually the biggest selling point of this car, one is that it is based on Geely's new pure electric MPV architecture to create a flat interior floor, and the other is that its seat layout is very diverse, it can even be said that L380 in the seat layout, to achieve the current domestic large MPV market only.

Let's talk about its flat interior floor first, although it is a pure electric MPV, the chassis has a large space for the battery pack, and theoretically it can achieve a certain degree of straight interior floor. However, in addition to the battery, a pure electric car also needs to arrange many components, including the drive motor and electronic control system, even if the battery pack itself is facing the side facing the inner compartment, it is not necessarily completely flat, because the battery pack itself has some control, cooling and accessory devices. In other words, even for a pure electric MPV, it is difficult to achieve a completely flat floor.

However, the Geely SOA architecture on which the L380 is based can do just that. Therefore, this car is currently an extremely rare model in the field of medium and large MPVs in China, with a flat inner cabin floor. The flat interior floor directly provides great convenience for the L380's seating layout.

Not only can this car achieve the usual 7-seater and 6-seater layouts in its class, but it can actually be offered in different versions from 3 to 8 seats, depending on the version. And everyone should note that the 8-seat version of the L380 has a seat layout of 2+2+2+2, which can put down 4 rows of seats, and each row is two separate seats. According to Geely, the L380 allows even passengers in the fourth row to enjoy independent seats, and even ensures the comfort of each seat in each row, which is indeed something that no other MPV in the current class can do.

Of course, the highest-priced version of the L380 is a 3-seater with a 2+1 seat layout. Yes, you read that right, such a huge car, in addition to the two seats in the front, the entire huge rear row, only one seat is placed. This seat can be described as extremely luxurious, and the 3-seater version of the L380 is far more expensive than those 4-seater models priced at around 800,000 yuan, at least in terms of prestige and enjoyment of rear passengers. Not much else, with the same body size, the L380 has only one seat in the entire rear row. If the 4-seater version of other cars has a "first-class seat" in the rear, the L380's huge, extremely luxurious rear seats are almost a "dragon chair", right?

Let's talk about the LEVC brand

So obviously, the L380 is a car that can play with space, and then you may ask the question: what brand is LEVC? Is it some new force incubated by Geely? In fact, LEVC (official Chinese name Yizhen) is really not a "new force", on the contrary, it is a brand with a considerable history.

LEVC's previous Chinese name was London Electric Car, and its predecessor was LTC, London Taxi Company, which is a pure-blooded British brand with a history dating back to 1908. LTC only builds one kind of car, and only sells it in the UK, and this kind of car is the kind of black taxi that everyone will inevitably see in various British film and television works.

LTC's black cabs have effectively become a cultural calling card for the UK and London. However, due to various reasons, LTC could not survive in the UK, so in 2013, Geely wholly acquired the London taxi manufacturer.

After the name change, Geely produced the TX4, which is almost 100% replica of British taxis, in China. But the car suffered a fiasco in the market. Now Geely has actually just seen the rise of the MPV market and relaunched the LEVC brand.

Who are the competitors?

LEVC L380 This car is actually a little different from other medium and large MPVs of the same level, and the main selling point of other cars is basically "family-oriented, but also for business reception", focusing on a large family travel attribute. But the positioning of L380 is very straightforward, it is mainly used for business reception. Whether it's a 3-seater version or an 8-seater version, it's very obvious and designed for business reception cars with different needs.
