The population density in the Hujiayuan area is relatively high, and the cross-West Central Expressway of Jingshan South Road occupies some lanes due to the construction work, resulting in a decrease in the traffic efficiency of the roads near the morning and evening rush hours. In order to solve this problem, the Binhai New Area Transportation Bureau actively planned and organized the Binhai Traffic Management Detachment, Hujiayuan Sub-district Office, Binhai Construction Investment Group and other relevant units to promote the traffic relief project at the intersection of Jintang Highway on the West Central Expressway in combination with the actual situation of the new area, so as to facilitate the daily commuting of residents in the Hujiayuan area and the passing needs of transport vehicles.
It is understood that the opening of the West Central Expressway Jintang Highway intersection traffic relief project is located at the intersection of Jintang Highway and West Central Expressway, according to the traffic flow of the intersection, the use of two lanes to ease the traffic flow, that is, in the north side of the Jintang Highway under the bridge to add a U-turn lane. At the same time, on the basis of repairing the existing auxiliary road on the west side of West Central and the main bridge of West Central Expressway across Jintang Highway, a lane at the main line bridge of West Central Ring Road was added.
"These two auxiliary roads have strengthened the connection between the West Central Expressway of Jintang Highway, which can effectively reduce the north-south vehicle load of Jintang Highway after opening, significantly alleviate the left-turn congestion of Jintang Highway, effectively improve the traffic efficiency of the road network, and greatly improve the traffic operation of the urban area." The relevant person in charge of the Binhai New Area Transportation Bureau told reporters. For nearby residents, the addition and re-zoning of lanes can save a lot of driving time. "I need to go to work every day on the West Central Expressway from south to north, and I have to wait for several traffic lights to make a U-turn at this intersection.
