When editing a video in VideoStudio, it is sometimes necessary to separate the video part from the audio part of the video footage, replace it with other audio, or make further adjustments to the audio part. The first step is to open VideoStudio and insert a video clip with sound into the video track or overlay track in the Timeline panel.
Step 2: Select the video clip in the timeline panel to separate audio, then right-click and select the "Separate Audio >" command from the pop-up shortcut menu, as shown in the following figure.

Or after selecting the video clip, you can also separate the sound by using the "Edit > Separate Audio" command in the menu bar.

The third step is to click "Separate Audio" to separate the audio separately, as shown in the figure below:

The audio that is separated from the video material is placed on the sound track, what if there is sound material on the sound track? Let's actually do it, first of all, we put the material on the video track and the sound track;
Let's first look at the "Separate Audio" command in the shortcut menu that pops up by right-clicking on the video track, which is grayed out, which means that this command is also unavailable, as shown in the following figure:

The "Split Audio" command in the menu bar and the "Split Audio" in the options panel are both grayed out, indicating that this command is not available at the moment!
Therefore, we can conclude that in order to split the audio of a video material, there must be no audio material at the corresponding time point on the sound track, otherwise the separated audio cannot be used.
