How does Buddhism view plastic surgery? Gen-la Sheng Yan: I don't say I oppose plastic surgery, I can only say it

I'm not against plastic surgery, but...

The primary concern of plastic surgery is "health", including mental health and physical health. If plastic surgery has no physical sequelae and is a plus for boosting one's self-confidence, then there is nothing wrong with plastic surgery.

However, in my opinion, inner peace and wisdom are beauty; If you just make your face well, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's beautiful. I believe that if the heart is unhappy, often painful, resentful, and arrogant, even if the face is as beautiful as the model Lin Chiling, it is still not good-looking.

In my cognition, a simple, sincere, friendly, and wise face must be beautiful, and it is not a problem for your mother to give birth to you. For example, the face is very sincere and friendly, so that anyone who sees him will feel cute, happy, and good-looking.

I am not against plastic surgery, but I advocate that parents should not let their children feel that their faces are unsightly, and they must have plastic surgery; If you have plastic surgery and your personality and thoughts have not changed, then plastic surgery has no effect. This kind of plastic surgery is like buying a mask to wear on the face; But the mask can be taken off, but the plastic surgery cannot.

As for plastic surgery for luck change and facial reasons, such as fierce moles, low nose bridge, and high cheekbones, it is not very accurate. Just look at the appearance of high-ranking officials and wealthy people, many people just have strange looks, even college scholars, not necessarily the appearance of white-faced scholars.

There was a young man who was not doing well, and all the fortune tellers said that the mole on his face was not good, and his eyelids had to be repaired. So he did, and everyone said he had to be transferred. The result? His character and good fortune have not changed, how can his fate change? It's like "boiling sand into sesame seeds" is a joke, is it possible to dye the sand and pretend to be sesame seeds? That's impossible, sand is still sand!

Plastic surgery is not as good as "whole" heart

A person's face and demeanor are closely related to his heart.

Plastic surgery and beauty can only modify the appearance, not the natural appearance, which is equivalent to the makeup done in order to act on the stage, no matter how you put on makeup, you can't change the inner mentality.

After plastic surgery, the nose is a little higher, the single eyelid becomes a double eyelid, the thick lip becomes a thin lip, and others see you as a talent, and you look new, as if it is more pleasing to the eye and a little better-looking. However, if your heart has not changed, no matter how your face changes, your fate will not change, and people's trust in you and their expectations of you will not change because of this.

People with a heart will pay attention to your character and heart, and irrelevant people will only see your surface. Everyone plays their own role in society, but it is not just by makeup that can be played, it is the actual identity, position, thoughts, words, and actions between people, which is a contribution to society and an impact on society, which is very important. If you only rely on makeup, you can only use it as a vase, and it is no longer a practical thing.

Facial plastic surgery is not completely useless, but it would be nice if the heart and personality also changed with the face. If you don't adjust your heart and personality and just have plastic surgery, you may become more unpopular as you get older.

If you don't go to plastic surgery, adjust your heart and become kinder; Train your personality to be gentle, and you will be appreciated by the family. The older you get, the more pleasing people look at you; The older you get, the more you are like autumn rice, the fuller you become, the more respectful and respectful you become, and the more people feel that you are a very close, reliable, and trustworthy person.

I don't object to plastic surgery, I can only say that it is a kind of makeup when necessary, not a method that can really change your fate. To transform one's destiny and future, you can't just rely on plastic surgery.

When I was a child, people always said that I was not good-looking and not dignified, but now that I am old, my disciples see me and say, "Master, you are so kind!" We feel so happy to see you; After seeing you, there is a sense of stability in my heart; Master, your eyes are so wise! ”

Actually, I'm still a thin monk, just because I've been doing my best to promote Buddhism for many years, and I've paid a lot, so people feel a little different about me. Because my heart is not hostile to others, people feel more comfortable when they see me. Maybe it's because I'm so busy with sentient beings that it gives me a little sympathetic comfort.

Buddhism says, "Phases follow the heart", and the face and hands will change with the change of the heart.
