Recently, Zhejiang photographers photographed the wonder of "rippled fish scale tide" in the Qiantang River during the rainy season, and the video quickly went viral after being posted on the Internet platform, and many central media also forwarded it.

The video shows waves of swelling staggered and overlapping water lines. Overlooking the vast river from the air, the tide is like a piece of fish scales, constantly moving forward, with the magnificent momentum of thousands of horses galloping.

The Orange Persimmon Interactive reporter contacted the photographer Huang Qidong, who said that he is a native of Wenzhou, 45 years old this year, who worked in Beijing before 2020 and later returned to Hangzhou to develop.

"Four years ago, a manufacturer sent me a drone. At that time, there was still an epidemic, so I ran to the roof of our house and took some pictures of the surrounding scenery. Since then, I have slowly come into contact with and fall in love with photography. ”

In 2021, Huang Qidong was attracted by the tide of the Qiantang River, so he has been paying attention to and shooting, and has also joined the Zhejiang Qiantang River Tide Research Association and the Hangzhou Photographers Association, and is also doing his own Douyin account "Dong Vision".

"Actually, the time when the fish scale tide was photographed this time was on the 13th day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar, that is, on June 18 of the solar calendar. Actually, I went to see it once on the morning of June 17th, but I didn't get any pictures. The next morning, I was lucky enough to photograph the fish scale tide. ”

At 5 a.m. on June 18, Huang Qidong got up and went out, took his camera and drone, and went to shoot 1 kilometer east of Jiashao Bridge. Huang Qidong said that fish scale tides are very rare, and they usually appear in this position.

"At 7 o'clock in the morning, I arrived at the position of 1 kilometer east of the Jiashao Bridge and activated the drone. It was a bit windy and you need to be very careful when maneuvering. At 8 o'clock, I saw the tide coming from east to west, taking on the shape of fish scales, and I hurriedly filmed this scene. ”

Huang Qidong said that the time for the fish scale tide to appear is very short, basically within a minute or two, sometimes even only a few tens of seconds. But on one occasion, he also encountered a four-minute tide of fish scales, and recorded it throughout.

Huang Qidong thinks that the fish scale tide is also a strange phenomenon, which often cannot be formed at high tide, and can only appear at medium tide. The conditions for the occurrence of fish scale tides are more harsh, basically in the summer, when the weather is hot and the tides are spectacular, and often in the morning.

"For the appearance of the fish scale tide, first of all, there must be two tides crossing, and secondly, at least one of the two tides is a ripple tide, and finally these two tides must not differ too much in energy, and too much difference can not form a fish scale tide, if the ripple tide is very small, then the fish scale tide cannot be seen."

Huang Qidong said that the first-line tide is a relatively common tide, which is formed by the superposition of several tides, and when the fish scale tide disappears, it will generally become a first-line tide. Although the scale tide encountered this time was beautiful enough, he also wanted to see if there was a more spectacular tide in the future.

"I wanted to see if there was a better fish scale tide in the back, so I went to this position for nine days in a row. I didn't wait until June 25th. After entering the flood season, the Xin'an River opened the sluice, and there was too much water coming downstream, suppressing the tide, and there was no better-looking fish scale tide. ”

The Ichthosis tide is a very rare tidal spot, which was first discovered in 2021.

Orange Persimmon Interactive reported that on September 22, 2021, the "2021 Qiantang River Tide Scientific Research Report" was officially released, which clarified the eight tidal forms of the Qiantang River, including "first-line tide, cross tide, turning tide, dou tide, second tide, collision tide, ripple tide, and fish scale tide".

"After observation, before the occurrence of the fish scale tide, the north and south two first-line tides advance in parallel, the south is fast and the north is slow, and the north tide is oblique to the southwest, and evolves into a ripple tide, the speed is accelerated, and then crosses with the south tide, at the peak of the ripple tide, due to the large water depth, the white broken tide head of the south tide disappears for a short time, so it produces fish scales, and a section behind the tide head looks like fish scales. As the south tide accelerates and the undulating tide disappears, so does the fish scale tide......"

Huang Qidong said that after the announcement of the discovery of the fish scale tide, it also had a bit of an "Internet celebrity" temperament, and many people also wanted to take pictures after seeing the fish scale tide video.

"I think the fish scale tide has been around for a long time, but it hasn't been detected for a long time. Nature is magical, and the charm lies in the fact that there is a different landscape every day. As long as you keep observing, you can find a lot of surprises every day. ”
