China has now become Hungary's largest source of overseas investment. Hungary Today reported on June 28 that 30 years ago, Chinese-funded enterprises in Hungary were cafeterias and second-hand clothing stores. Today, almost all of Hungary's largest new investments are related to China.

Magar Levante, State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, said at the Fujian Investment Forum held in Gödöll, Hungary, on June 27 that China has now become Hungary's largest source of overseas investment. The participation of a delegation from Fujian in southeastern China at the forum is part of a "series of subtle developments" in the relations between the two countries.

Recent high-level visits such as the visit of Chinese leaders to Hungary illustrate the growing ties between the two countries. These visits demonstrate the special importance of relations with China in Hungarian foreign policy, and vice versa. Magar stressed that Hungary and China have become their respective priority partners, and the upgrading of bilateral relations to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era confirms this. This is a hard-won achievement, which has been achieved by decades of hard work and cooperation between the two countries, and the relevant efforts have paid off.

Magar also said that over the past few decades of economic and trade cooperation between China and Hungary, the world has undergone great changes. During this time, China has also become a leading geopolitical and global economic power. These geopolitical and global economic changes are also reflected in Hungary, which has opened its doors to the Chinese economy. Some of China's best companies are coming to Hungary through open doors.

The latest direct flight between Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and Guangzhou, China, made its maiden flight on June 27. More flights are to follow in the coming weeks. By the end of June, Budapest will have direct flights to seven cities in China, bringing the number of flights per week to 19. This will make people-to-people exchanges between the two countries more convenient.

A few years ago, Budapest had some difficulty maintaining routes with Beijing and Shanghai, but now the encryption and expansion of routes fully reflects the strengthening of tourism, economic and trade ties between the two countries.
