On June 28, the Ho Chi Minh City District 6 Taxation Bureau issued a written warning notice to the Ho Chi Minh City General Department of Taxation and the Ho Chi Minh City Taxation Bureau, stating that in the process of reviewing taxpayers' data, it was found that Nguyễn Thị Hương (Nguyễn Thị Hương), born in 1990, from Hai Ho Hae District, Nam Dinh Province, as a legal representative, registered 116 companies in a row.

All 116 companies are registered in Ho Chi Minh City and all use foreign names. Among them, there are 5 companies in District 6, 22 companies in Tan Binh District, 15 companies in Tan Phu District, 11 companies in Thu Duc City, 10 companies in District 10, and 5 companies in District 5...... and 116 others.

These 116 companies were established from December 2023 to March 2024 (in just 3 months, an average of more than one registered per day in terms of time, which can be called professional households), and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong served as the legal representative of the company.

Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, Nguyen Tan Dung, said the 116 companies did not have any business operations and were not registered to issue invoices. The company does not operate at its registered business address, and some of the addresses are incorrect.

On the question of how many companies a person can register, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment Planning Department said in an interview with reporters that the current law does not limit the number of enterprises established by individuals. The Enterprise Law is implemented according to the principle of "post-inspection".

Nguyen Thi Huong, who registered 116 companies, was arrested by the Ho Chi Minh City Police at the end of April 2024 for using the registered company to participate in money laundering and illegal transportation of currency.

Regarding the case, as of early May 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Police have arrested 13 suspects who used 116 companies registered by Nguyen Thi Huong to launder money and illegally transport money across borders.
