In order to further facilitate personnel exchanges between the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and to serve and promote the better integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the overall development of the country, the Exit and Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China has decided to issue Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese nationals) who are permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region from 10 July 2024. The announcement is as follows:
Non-Chinese nationals who are permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region who travel to and from the Mainland for short-term entry purposes such as investment, family visits, tourism, business, seminars, exchanges and other reasons may submit an application for a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese nationality) to China Travel Service Hong Kong and China Travel Service Macau, which are entrusted by the Exit and Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China. The permit is valid for 5 years with the approval of the exit-entry authority, and the holder can travel to and from the Mainland several times during the validity period of the permit, and each stay shall not exceed 90 days. The holder is not allowed to work, study or engage in news gathering activities in the Mainland.
