Xie Aige, born in 1977, graduated from the Department of Ceramic Design of the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University. She was born in Changsha, Hunan Province, and the environment of mountains and rivers created her yearning for purity and freedom, which became the central idea of her subsequent artistic creation. As a contemporary young female artist, the images in her works are mostly influenced by the protagonists of Modigliani in the West and Jimmy in Taiwan, who are either soft and poignant or simple and amiable, and present a graceful and tranquil Chinese femininity under the simple shape, round and smooth lines, and simple and natural colors. At the same time, her artworks delicately present the spiritual essence of people, remove the shackles, return to the nature, so as to pursue the unique temperament and spiritual philosophy of the Chinese.
