Recently, a new app, noplace, known as an improved version of MySpace, was launched and quickly gained a lot of attention. After nearly a year of invitation-only trials, the app is finally available to the public, allowing more users to experience its unique features.
Multiple features attract users
noplace is free to download on the App Store, but the app isn't currently available on Google Play. But due to the enthusiastic response from iOS users, it is not ruled out that an Android version will be launched soon.
Unlike Instagram and Facebook, noplace doesn't support photos or videos, but encourages people to post text stories. Users can customize their profile to share their recent developments, relationship status, and hobbies. The platform also provides a "star" feature similar to tags, which users can set in their profiles to indicate the topics they care about. Like MySpace, noplace has an area where the user's "top 10 friends" are displayed.
Innovate dynamic and global content
Noplace has two dynamic streams, one for updates from the user's friends and the other for updates from around the world. However, users can't make their profile private, but users under the age of 18 have access to a more moderated feed. Moderation is an important focus for Noplace, and the company currently has an entire team dedicated to this work.
AI technology provides personalized summaries
Unlike most current social media platforms that use algorithms to curate content that users are likely to be interested in, NoPlace uses artificial intelligence to provide a summary of content that users may have missed while offline. While the platform seems promising from the start, it will take time to see if it will stand out among apps aimed at younger users like LMK, Yubo, and Wizz.
