ASSAB Stavax corrosion-resistant mirror mould steel
Introduction to Stavax
Stavax is a high-grade stainless tool steel produced by ASSAB in Sweden. Due to the electroslag reconstitution (Esr) process, the sulfur content in the steel is greatly reduced (up to 0.003%) and non-metallic impurities, resulting in a very good polished surface quality for Stavax.
Stavax performance
It is usually used for plastic mold steel, which has high purity, high polishability, high mirror appearance, high acid and corrosion resistance, and small heat treatment deformation. It is the leader in plastic mold steel, and its excellent polishing performance is beyond the reach of other plastic mold steels.
Whether Stavax can be nitrided
Stavax material is a good material for making plastic molds, and it is also easy to polish. Compared with other materials, the amount of deformation of nitriding is very small. If ion nitriding is done, it is basically not deformed.

Stavax Applications
Corrosion resistance, rust resistance: for the use of corrosive PVC, acetate and other injection molding raw materials or molds that must work and store in a humid environment.
High-smoothness surfaces: production of optical products such as cameras, sunglasses, chemical instruments and plastic products.
Ductility, toughness: used as complex molds.
Surface hardenability: high hardness requirements, important large molds.
