Here are some tips for buying and preserving peaches:
Purchasing
Observe the appearance
Choose peaches with upright fruit shape, no obvious deformity, no spots, no damage, no traces of diseases and pests on the skin of the fruit.
In terms of color, the background color of ripe peaches is generally milky yellow or milky white, and the top and sunny side are reddish or red, and the color is bright and uniform.
Touch with your hands
Gently press the peach with your hand, if it feels slightly elastic, not particularly hard or particularly soft, it means that the ripeness is just right; If it is too hard, it means that the maturity is not enough; If it is too soft or even indented, it may be too ripe or has begun to deteriorate.
Smell the aroma
Ripe peaches will exude a light aroma, and the richer the aroma, the more ripe and fresh the fruit, and the better the taste.
Look at the fluff
Fresh peach fluff is more complete and dense. If the fluff is sparse or falls out, it may have been left for a long time and is not very fresh.
Save
Refrigerator refrigeration
If you buy a lot of peaches and can't eat them in a short time, you can wrap the peaches one by one in a fresh-keeping bag and put them in the refrigerator, which can generally be stored for 3-5 days.
Room temperature storage method
Choose a cool, ventilated and dry place, spread the peaches flat, avoid stacking and squeezing, so that they can be stored for 2-3 days.
Modified atmosphere preservation
If there are conditions, the peaches can be placed in the modified atmosphere preservation warehouse, adjust the proportion of oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen in the warehouse, and extend the shelf life of the peaches, which can be stored for 1-2 months.
