At present, summer travel is relatively hot
Luzhou Public Security once again reminds everyone:
There is a scam called "ticket refund and change"
Recently, Xiao Chen (pseudonym) received a call from a person claiming to be a staff member of an airline before he was about to travel, and the other party informed Xiao Chen that the flight he was taking was canceled due to aircraft failure, and that he could receive a change subsidy of 300 yuan for changing his ticket, and gave him a web address, which was almost exactly the same as the official website.
The "staff" informed Xiao Chen that the subsidy could only be issued through the corporate account, so Xiao Chen was required to transfer all his deposits to the corporate account provided by the other party, and after the turnover was generated, he could apply for Xiao Chen's account as a "corporate account", and after the review was passed, Xiao Chen's money and the money for the claim would be returned to his bank account. (Knock on the blackboard: The scammer uses words to guide the victim to believe that his account can be applied for as a corporate account after the transfer flow is generated, so as to transfer money to the account provided by him.) )
(Screen sharing is to get your bank account, password, verification code, face information, etc., once the other party obtains it, even if you don't transfer it, the other party can transfer the money from your card!) )
Xiao Chen successfully transferred 210,000 yuan, and the other party claimed that the money would be returned after 20 minutes. Xiao Chen waited left and right and didn't see a refund, so he quickly contacted the other party, but in the end, what was waiting for him was that the phone was turned off, and then he found out that he had been deceived.
"I was so dizzy that I forgot that I wanted to change my ticket in the first place!" This is a common sentiment shared by many victims, and it is exactly what scammers are trying to achieve.
Analysis of the routine of "ticket refund and change".
The summer travel rush has arrived, and "ticket refunds and changes" scams are the most likely to appear. This type of scam often captures the nervousness of travelers about changes in their itinerary before traveling, and when combined with the temptation of refund compensation, travelers can easily fall for it. In addition, the summer thunderstorm season has begun, and flight cancellations and delays have increased, which provides an opportunity for scammers to accurately defraud.
01
When traveling, it is important to book air tickets through official channels, as other unofficial channels may cause personal flight information to be leaked and directly cause economic losses.
02
When receiving text messages and phone calls such as flight cancellations, flight changes, ticket refunds and changes, etc., you should verify through the airline's customer service phone, official website and other channels, do not trust unfamiliar numbers, do not click on SMS links, and do not fill in personal information at will.
03
The refund is generally returned to the account through the original payment channel. Keep the verification code and password carefully and do not disclose it to others.
There are only three steps to see through this kind of ticket refund and change scam:
One is the look of the telephone number
Airlines or online ticketing service platforms will only contact them through their official phone numbers, and if they are unfamiliar with their personal mobile phone numbers or calls from overseas numbers starting with "00" and "+", be vigilant.
The second is to be vigilant against "compensation"
When the so-called staff of the caller takes the initiative to inform the traveler that the passenger will be compensated, and needs to download the specified software, screen sharing, etc., it can be basically determined that it is a scam. Once the passenger hesitates, the other party will urge the passenger to complete the operation as soon as possible on the grounds that there are not many seats available for the rebooked flight.
The third is to never "share the screen"
The other party will deceive travelers into providing bank account numbers, passwords, mobile phone verification codes, or turning on the screen sharing function under the pretext that "a small fee is required for the change", "the refund needs to verify the face and video record", and "the verification code is required to confirm the change information". Once this information is obtained, the scammer can easily log in to the traveler's online banking and transfer all the balance with the transfer verification code.
