It is said that there was a KGB agent who actually defected for love! This benevolent brother is not an ordinary agent, but a real trump card, and he has also used a magical secret weapon. However, in the end, he chose to betray the organization because of a woman. Doesn't that sound exciting? Let's take a look at the legend of this agent!
Our protagonist is called Bogdan, born in 1931 in an ordinary peasant family in Ukraine. Like many young people, he had a dream of becoming a university teacher. It's a pity that my family is poor and can't even afford a train ticket.
Once, in order to pursue his ideals, Bogdan took a risk to evade his ticket and take the train. As a result, he was arrested by the police. But this kid is so clever that he actually slipped away from the police! Although he was caught again, his intelligence impressed the police.
Instead of sending him to college, the police recruited him to the KGB. This trick was a crooked move, because the 19-year-old Bogdan learned everything quickly and soon became the KGB's right-hand man.
Later, in order to complete the mission, Bogdan also betrayed his relatives. This can make him not human inside and out. However, the KGB trusted him even more and decided to cultivate this good material.
In 1954, Bogdan was sent on a mission to West Germany. He targeted several leaders of the nationalist movement in Ukraine. To accomplish this task, the KGB gave him a special weapon - a double-barreled poison needle pistol.
This thing is amazing! It is small in size, easy to hide, and highly toxic. As long as you touch a little bit, the person is gone. The only drawback is that the range is too short, and you have to take the antidote first when you use it, otherwise you will have to finish the game yourself.
With this weapon, Bogdan managed to take out two targets. The best thing is that even the police can't see that this is an assassination, and they think that they are having a heart attack! This can make the KGB bad, and give Bogdan a promotion and a reward.
While on a mission, Bogdan met a girl named Inge, and the two quickly fell in love. But the KGB didn't allow them to get married, which suffocated Bogdan.
Later, Bogdan finally got his wish and married Inge. But the good times didn't last long, and their child died not long after birth. This is a complete blow to Bogdan.
He suddenly felt that he didn't want to be an agent anymore, and wanted to live an ordinary life. So he took the opportunity to run away with his wife and went to West Germany to turn himself in.
@老王不姓王: This guy is really talented! He was smart and capable, but he was planted in the hands of a woman. But then again, it's quite romantic to give up everything for love.
Lao Wang is right, Bogdan is indeed a talent. However, I think that he chose to defect not only for love. As an agent, living in danger and lies for a long time, you will definitely get tired of this life. Add to that the blow of losing a child, and he may feel like it's time to start over. While defecting was a risky decision, it was probably the only way for Bogdan to live freely and peacefully.
@小丸子的麻麻: This kind of spy movie is only there, right? Is there really such a powerful agent in real life?
Maruko's hemp makes a good question! Actually, the work of agents in reality may not be as exciting as in the movies, but there are some very powerful agents. The story of Bogdan, while it sounds like a movie, is a real happening. Agents need to be highly intelligent, quick learners, and excellent on-the-spot adaptability, all of which can be seen in Bogdan. However, the work of a real-life agent may be more about intelligence gathering and analysis than carrying out dangerous missions every day, as in the movies.
@追风少年: This poison needle pistol sounds terrible, does anyone still use this weapon now?
The boy chasing the wind is very reasonable. Indeed, this weapon sounds terrible. However, we must understand that such weapons were used during the cold war, and now all countries have signed the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. While we can't guarantee that this weapon will disappear completely, its use is certainly severely limited. Modern secret service work relies more on high-tech equipment and information technology than on such dangerous weapons. Importantly, we should oppose all forms of violence and promote peaceful development.
@老实人张三: This Bogdan is too unconscionable, and even betrayed his relatives for the sake of the mission.
Zhang San's opinion is not unreasonable. Indeed, from a moral point of view, Bogdan's betrayal of his loved ones is unacceptable. But we also have to take into account that as an agent, he may face a lot of pressure and difficult choices. In that environment, sometimes you have to do something that goes against your conscience. Importantly, Bogdan chose to defect in the end, probably precisely because he could no longer endure this life against his conscience. This story teaches us that even well-trained agents have their own moral bottom line and human side.
@正义使者007: This Bogdan finally defected, I wonder if the KGB sent someone to hunt him down?
Indeed, the defection of agents was a very serious problem, and the KGB could not just leave it at that. Although we do not know the specifics, it can be guessed that the KGB may well have taken some action. This also explains why Bogdan left with his wife immediately after his release from prison and never appeared in public again. They may have been living in fear and hiding. This gives us a glimpse of the other side of an agent's life - even if a new life is chosen, the shadow of the past may never be able to get rid of. However, Bogdan's choice also shows that sometimes it is worth taking a big risk in order to pursue the life you want.
From Bogdan's story, we see a complex figure of character. He has both excellent abilities and the emotions and desires of ordinary people. This story tells us that even a well-trained agent can change the course of his life because of love or a yearning for ordinary life.
Bogdan's experience offers us a glimpse into a side of the life of an agent during the Cold War. The international situation in those days was complicated, and agents often lived on the tip of a knife. They need to face all kinds of dangers, and they must always be on guard against being betrayed or exposed.
At the same time, the story also makes us think about the question: how should there be a trade-off between performing tasks and personal morality? Bogdan initially betrayed his relatives for the mission, but eventually chose to defect. Behind this change, it may reflect his inner struggle and growth.
Bogdan's story shows us the complexities of an agent's life. It's not just thrilling and romantic as in the movies, it's more about danger, stress, and moral dilemmas. But even in such an environment, the instinct for freedom and happiness in human nature remains.
