According to the plan, after the end of the training camp, there will be a practical assessment, in the form of allowing high-level college athletes to simulate the situation on the field, and each caddie will have 2 to 3 service opportunities. During this time, the evaluator will evaluate the caddy's performance.
Evaluator Ruan Pei Hun said that the actual combat assessment will mainly evaluate the caddies in an all-round way from the aspects of basic skills, service awareness, and teamwork. "The content of this 8-day training camp is actually the main content of the assessment, and it is also related to the service during the competition. We will focus on the performance of caddies in terms of passing and receiving coordination, speed and quality of the ball in boccia, feedback on player needs, etc., and rate them through different dimensions. Overall, he said, the overall quality of the caddies this year is even better than last year.
It is reported that 220 caddies are expected to pass the selection to serve the 2024 China Open. The final selection results will be announced on July 23 on the official social media platform and official website of China Net.
Since its launch in 2012, the China Tennis Ball Boy Development Program has attracted more than 10,000 tennis enthusiasts across the country to participate, and provided nearly 1,000 ball boys with the opportunity to perform on the stage of the China Open, including 77 outstanding ball boys who went to the Australian Open and the French Open for international exchanges.
