Chanthaburi Province, located on the east coast of Thailand, on the Thai-Cambodian border, 245 kilometers from the capital Bangkok, about 4 hours by car, the Thai name means "City of the Moon". With the mountains in its back and the sea in its face, it is as calm and serene as its name.
This area of more than 6,300 square kilometers is home to magnificent waterfalls, beautiful gems and is also known as a fruit city, where agriculture and tourism are the leading industries. Agriculture is dominated by the production of various tropical fruits and cash crops such as pepper.
Chanthaburi is known as the "Durian Capital", where 80% of Thailand's durians come from. It is also rich in tropical fruits such as rambutan, mangosteen, snakeskin fruit, and emperor banana. Every year in May, a fruit festival is held.
60%-70% of Chanthaburi is engaged in agricultural production, with a total trade volume of more than 100 billion baht, mainly exported to China, with most of it sold to Guangzhou, Sichuan and Guizhou.

Chanthaburi is one of the most important fruit-growing regions in Thailand and has the largest durian production and is known as the "Durian Capital". Chanthaburi Noh Song Market is the largest durian market in Thailand, with thousands of durian stalls large and small. As of May 2023, Chanthaburi province has at least 700 durian sorting plants dedicated to the Chinese market.

On May 25, 2023, the Chengdu International Express "Southeast Asia-Mengyang" special line was officially opened, departing from Chanthaburi in Thailand and directly arriving at the Sichuan International Agricultural Products Trading Center in Mengyang, the whole journey took only 5 days, saving about 30% in transportation costs, becoming another convenient channel for fruits from Thailand and Laos to enter the Chinese market. This also means that the Pengzhou area of Chengdu International Dry Port will form a frontier market for Southeast Asian fruit and vegetable imports in the southwest inland of the mainland.
