All counties (cities) and districts, Fuzhou High-tech Zone, and Municipal Marine and Fishery Bureaus:
This year's No. 3 typhoon "Gemei", the center was located about 530 kilometers north-east of Manila, Philippines at 8 a.m. today, with a maximum wind force of 8 (tropical storm level) near the center and a minimum pressure of 992 hPa at the center. It is expected that "Gemei" will move slowly to the north-west at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour, gradually strengthening in intensity, and the strongest can reach the strong typhoon level or super typhoon level (50~58 m/s, 15~17 level), and gradually approach the sea surface of the eastern part of Taiwan Island. With the typhoon gradually moving north, under the influence of the western circulation of the typhoon from the 24th, the coastal wind in our city gradually increased, and the maximum gust could reach more than 9 (main impact period: 25~26).
All departments at all levels should establish a firm bottom-line thinking, limit thinking, strengthen risk awareness, accurately grasp the situation, and pay close attention to the future development trends of the typhoon and its impact on our city. In particular, meteorological departments should closely monitor the dynamics of typhoons, further improve the accuracy of forecasts, and extend the prediction period. The marine and fishery departments should do a good job in monitoring and forecasting storm surges and waves, organize statistics on the number of fishing boats and personnel going to sea, keep in touch with the personnel on the fishing boats, and notify them to make preparations for typhoon prevention, so as to ensure the safety of the people's lives and property.
