One day, I met with the young artist Liu Zhaohong, and I planned to chat for a while, but we chatted for more than an hour, and the author realized his dedication to art and his unique artistic concept, like a spring breeze.
Liu Zhaohong is good at painting monkeys, landscapes, flowers and birds, and people are all involved, and they are all remarkable, with their own style. As a disciple of Mr. Xu Peichen, a master of monkey painting, his works are rooted in tradition, combining color, perspective, and realistic aesthetic expression, and forming his own unique style with rough and straightforward freehand brushstrokes. The monkey crystals created are vivid, and the animals in the pen are endowed with human vitality and intelligence.
The ancient book "White Tiger Pass" cloud: monkey, Hou also. Marquis is the second class of ancient aristocratic titles, the so-called "marquis" in "duke, marquis, earl, son, and male". It also refers to the local monarchs with knighthoods, and the princes of the countries during the Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant Autumn and Warring States periods. In the Qin and Han dynasties, the marquis worshipped generals. As a result, the monkey became a mascot that symbolized promotion.
There are many artists who paint monkeys. Liu Zhaohong paints monkeys with ease, with a decisive and sassy brush, with ink is not sluggish or turbid, the color is bold and unique, the ink is visible, the pen is clear, there is a sense of transparency full of clear air, and full of ink texture and fun. More importantly, his monkey works have a spirituality, and he uses the monkey as a medium to inspire the soul. It truly achieves the combination of pen and ink, love and scenery, and integrates with each other to create all things and their own hearts and souls, and the so-called "words are the voice of the heart" is also. To get close to nature with the heart, to experience the unique image depicted by the pen with the heart, and to arouse the passion of being smart, fresh and interesting, the work is reproduced as a rewriting of the scenes, so that the scenes are blended.
His monkey works, which are mainly realistic, are coherent in one go, implying an artistic factor that is connected with the emptiness and seclusion, so it has an inner depth and mysterious charm, giving the works a profound humanistic atmosphere. Writing the blocks in the heart with monkeys, the majestic atmosphere without losing the subtlety, vigorous and infinitely meaningful. Liu Zhaohong slowly unfolds his recent paintings, in which he uses the brush to be old and spicy and smart, the ink to be fresh and chic, and the brush-ink transformation is full of changes, painting the dynamic and static beauty of the monkey through free and spontaneous brushstrokes.
I won't go into too much detail about the technique. I read a kind of ease in Liu Zhaohong's works, a kind of prodigal warmism flavor filled with it, that is a kind of poetic feelings full of life, Mr. Pan Tianshou once said: "Between the barren mountains and rocks, a few branches and leaves, a few idle flowers are the supreme powder of our generation." The broad atmosphere of his works is the result of the precise combination and refinement of form and spirit, form and interest, and the result of the formation of the god in front of the form and the image outside the image, so as to create such a new artistic image of monkeys and a new exploration schema on the picture.
The ancients talked about painting clouds: "Look at its potential from afar, and take its quality from close." In the dust of the world, I would rather love and hate. Liu Zhaohong has always had a clumsy heart, persisted in asking about art, cultivated the spirit of a literati, did idle things, admired the behavior of the people, envied the hidden of Yishi, and used the pen as a ploughshare to open up a place of his own art, although lonely, but also pleasant!
