Recently, Canada e-bike brand Rocky Mountain launched a new child-friendly Reaper Powerplay electric mountaineer with a mid-mounted full suspension motor with a peak power of 300 watts, paired with torque-sensing technology to provide instant power delivery, allowing young riders to easily conquer all kinds of terrain.
For safety, parents can adjust the motor's top assist speed and power delivery via the control panel, and the Shimano CUES 10-speed shifting system ensures that young riders can handle different grades with ease. The bike has a 240 Wh lithium-ion battery, which should be enough for young riders.
Available in 24-inch and 26-inch wheels, the Reaper Powerplay is paired with a Manitou fork (120 or 140mm of travel) and a RockShox Deluxe Select rear shock (130mm of travel) for excellent off-road performance. The Tektro hydraulic disc brake system delivers reliable braking power. The aluminium frame balances strength and weight with riding comfort. In addition, the model design is a growth model, and parents can upgrade the 24-inch model to the 26-inch model by replacing the wheels and head bowl group, saving a lot of upgrade costs.
The Reaper Powerplay 24 is priced at $4,399 and the Reaper Powerplay 26 is priced at $4,799 and comes in orange and black.
