▲ Battle Pass XIV Season
Hello World of Tanks players, the new Update 1.25.1 has been completed! We're also bringing Commanders a special Battle Pass Season XIV, which commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, with all 3 Chapters coming with a Tier VI Gold tank as part of the base rewards, featuring a unique permanent 3D style with a look inspired by the appearance of tanks in the Normandy landings and subsequent battles. In this article, we will take stock of these 3 historically commemorative gold coin tanks for the commanders.
M4A3(76)W“谢尔曼”
▲M4A3(76)W“谢尔曼”
The M4A3(76)W Sherman, a Tier VI Gold medium tank of the M series, is based on the Sherman, which was heavily used by the Allies and is one of the most famous tanks of the Great War. The M4A3 (76) W "Sherman" in World of Tanks is equipped with hedge removal equipment under the head of the hull, sandbags on the head of the hull, and tarps on the sides of the gun shield and hull, which well restores the state of the tank during the war. The vehicle uses a 76 mm M1A2 tank gun, with an average damage of 115 HP per shot, a penetration depth of 128/177 mm, and an extremely fast rate of fire.
▲Good performance at close range
This main gun of the M4A3 (76)W "Sherman" does not have an advantage over its competitors in terms of damage per shot, but its rate of fire is very impressive. If the enemy misaligns, it will be greeted by a raindrop of M4A3(76)W 76mm shells. In addition, the tank's main gun has a 12-degree depression angle, which can be fought in many rough terrains, reducing the requirements for the player's positioning. The M4A3 (76) W "Sherman" has a good field of vision, good mobility, and moderate defense, making it a very standard M-series medium tank, which is more suitable for operating with teammates and striking enemies with its own high-rate guns.
Churchill "Crocodile"
▲ Churchill "Crocodile"
The Churchill Alligator, a Tier VI heavy tank in the Y series, is based on the Spitfire of the infantry tank used in the Great War, and the machine gun muzzle on the head of the hull armor has been changed to a flamethrower, but the Churchill Alligator does not carry a fuel trailer, so it cannot be used against enemy Spitfire attacks in World of Tanks. Due to its original design as an infantry tank, the mobility of the Churchill "Alligator" was very mediocre: the tank had a maximum forward speed of only 25 km/h and a unit power of only 9.09 hp/t. This, combined with a rather slow speed of rotation of the car, resulted in a rather slow pace for the Churchill "Crocodile" to drive. The best tactic is to head to town at the start of the game and engage the enemy in close quarters with your high-velocity artillery.
▲ Attack the enemy continuously
The Churchill "Crocodile" has better protection than the other 2 reward tanks. With a frontal thickness of 152 mm in the turret, the same defensive power on the nose and lower armor plates on the hull, and wide tracks and decent side armor on the hull, the angled Churchill "Crocodile" was not easy to penetrate. The Churchill "Crocodile" uses a 75mm cannon with an average damage per shot of 140 points and a penetration depth of 148/208 mm. However, due to its mid-mounted turret and a 4-degree gun depression angle, the Churchill "Crocodile" was best suited to fighting the enemy in flat town terrain.
CDT
▲CDT
The design of the F-series Tier VI Gold Heavy Tank CDT is based on the ARL 44 heavy tank of the F series, and the appearance of the CDT has also added many practical details: the top of the turret is equipped with twin heavy machine guns, the crew rations and various miscellaneous items are placed on the bow and sides of the turret, and the gun and hull are covered with camouflage nets. In World of Tanks, the CDT uses a long-barreled 90 mm tank gun with a penetration depth of 212 mm for standard ammunition, which is completely beyond the specifications of a Tier VI tank, and even in the case of a high-end tank, there is no need to switch expensive special ammunition.
▲CDT needs to be aimed carefully
However, the aiming time and circle expansion coefficient of this main gun of CDT are not very good, which makes its gun control performance relatively average. In actual combat, it is best to aim patiently at the opponent before firing, otherwise the hit rate of the shells will not be ideal, and considering the not very fast reload speed, it is not a tank suitable for dynamic combat. The CDT's turret defense is inferior to that of the Churchill "Crocodile", but its guns have a better depression angle and can fight in hilly and mountainous terrain, striking the enemy with its own main guns. This is a heavy tank that requires some patience.
