Note!
The strongest typhoon of the year is coming!
"Big" Typhoon "Gmei"
Still developing integration
It will be coming to the Pacific Northwest this year
The strongest typhoon to form in the South China Sea
The current trend is to look at it
The possibility of landing on the mainland is growing
Here are a few things to focus on:
1. "Gemei" will be destined to become this year's "Wind King"
The intensity of "Gemei" this morning is a severe tropical storm (10-11), but it may continue to increase in intensity under the environmental conditions of high SST (above 31°C) and weak vertical wind shear in the later stage, at least to a strong typhoon (14-15), or even to a super typhoon (16 or above). It is destined to become the "wind king" in the Northwest Pacific and the South China Sea this year!
2. The path of "Gemei" has changed, and the probability of landing on the mainland is increasing
At present, there is still a lot of uncertainty about the path of "Gemei", and in general, it will tend to the Fujian area of Taiwan, China, and it is expected that it will be clearer after Taiwan. However, judging from today's latest track forecast, the typhoon's track is generally adjusting to the west, and the probability of landfall on the mainland has increased.
3. "Geme" is very large and stronger than "Sula".
In comparison, the size of "Gemei" can cover almost the entire Jiangnan and South China regions. A typhoon with a similar path to Gemei is Typhoon Sura 1209. However, the intensity of "Gemei" is stronger than that of "Sula", in short, this week, small partners in Taiwan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, and even Liaoning and other places should pay close attention to the dynamics of "Gemei" and pay attention to preparing for typhoons!
Today, the reporter learned from the Gaoyou Meteorological Observatory
For the time being, "Gemei" will have less impact on Gaoyou, and the wind may be a little stronger
However, there is still a lot of uncertainty about the path of the typhoon, so please pay attention to the latest developments in time
