On July 22, the heat season, the sun was like fire. On the shallow side of the Shuanglong Bridge under Group 9 of Gaoshi Village, Wangjing Town, Yantan District, Zigong City, a group of children flew by like lightning, leaving a string of laughing sounds and adding a wisp of agility to the silent valley.
In front of you, this stone flat bridge built in the Qing Dynasty - Shuanglong Bridge, is slightly green in the sun, and stands firmly on the river. Take a closer look, the two dragon head stone carvings on the bridge are well preserved, still majestic and upright, and the form is lifelike. Looking at the surrounding area of the bridge, the hills are undulating, the mountains are vertical and horizontal, the grass and trees are verdant, and the green water is surrounded, and the villagers are occasionally seen wielding hoes in the fields to be busy with agricultural work, which is a good picture of a quiet and beautiful village.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Yantan District Cultural Management Office, Shuanglong Bridge is located on the Liangdong River, a tributary of the Puxi River, and was once the main channel connecting the two banks of the Liangdong River, with a total of 8 bridge piers and 7 bridge holes. The bridge deck of Shuanglong Bridge is 24.6 meters long, 1.7 meters wide, and the bridge is 3 meters high, which provides convenience for the production and life of the people on both sides of the strait, and has certain historical and cultural relics reference value for studying the local traffic conditions in the Qing Dynasty.
