In a previous Assassin's Creed: Shadow report, politically correct pioneer IGN has consistently referred to Yasuke as a "real Black Knight in history". And after Ubisoft issued an "apology" statement yesterday, their wording has changed subtly.
Former World of Warcraft team lead Mark Kern found that IGN wrote in yesterday's report that "due to limited historical data, there is no conclusive evidence of whether Yasuke was a samurai, a retainer, or something else." Mark Kern joked that IGN had previously stated that "anyone who doesn't admit Yasuke as a samurai is a member of a hate group", and that according to their logic, they are now part of a hate group themselves.
In the comments section, players dug up more IGN reports about Assassin's Creed: Shadows, and these articles referred to Yasuke as a "real samurai in history".
