As the saying goes, "Three lights in the morning, three panics in the late": the wonderful revelation of ancient wisdom
Wen ‖ Hengdong is diligent
In the long river of time, the ancients carefully cultivated countless brilliant spiritual flowers and wisdom fruits. Among them, there are not only literary treasures such as Tang poems, Song Ci, and Yuan songs, but also many folk sayings full of life wisdom. Today, let's talk about the saying "get up early and get up late".
The meaning of this proverb is: if you can get up early every day, you will be able to handle all kinds of affairs in an orderly manner; But if you snooze and wake up late, you will inevitably be in a hurry and flustered. The "three lights" mentioned here refer to the head light, face light, and foot light; As for the "three panics", it is head panic, face panic, and foot panic.
1. The origin of the saying
The birth of the saying "three lights in the morning, three panics in the late" is not accidental, it first came from Shuzi's "Guazhou Continuation". Yu Shuzi was a talented man in the late Qing Dynasty in his early years, talented and ambitious. Later, he gave up school to engage in business and actively participated in many public welfare undertakings, such as Zhenjiang Yidu Bureau, Winter Relief Bureau and so on. Through field investigations, careful observation and in-depth reflection, he finally summed up this proverb that is full of the true meaning of life.
The "three" here is not an exact number, but an abstract expression meaning "many". "Sanguang" can be understood as being well prepared, efficient and thoughtful because of getting up early, and it can also mean that the early riser is full of energy and radiant; The "three panics" mean that the late risers are not well prepared, in a hurry, and in a panic, which can also be interpreted as the waste of farm work, housework and school waste caused by laziness and procrastination.
In ancient times, agricultural production depended on the time of day, and different seasons and solar terms had specific tasks. Due to the limited working hours of the day, waking up late can shorten the working hours and may even affect the crop harvest. Moreover, the ancients had a lot to do every day, and only by dealing with what should be done in time could they do other things.
2. The exhortations of the ancients
In ancient times, there were many famous sayings and aphorisms in the mainland that advised people to cherish time, such as: "An inch of time is an inch of gold, and it is difficult to buy an inch of time", "The plan of a year lies in spring, and the plan of a day lies in the morning", "If the young and strong do not work hard, the boss will be sad in vain", "I advise you not to cherish the golden clothes, and persuade you to cherish the youth". As the saying goes, "get up early and have three lights", it also advises people to cherish the early morning time.
For example, the story of Zu Ti and Liu Kun "smelling the chicken and dancing". Zu Ti and Liu Kun are good friends, and both have big ambitions. In the middle of the night, when he heard the rooster crowing, Zu Ti woke up Liu Kun and got up together to dance and practice martial arts, preparing for serving the country in the future. Their diligence and early morning laid the foundation for future success.
Another example is Che Yin's "Capsule Firefly Reading". Due to his poor family background, Che Yin studied without oil lamps at night, so he caught fireflies in the summer, put them in white silk bags, and studied hard with the faint light of fireflies. His early rise and hard work eventually helped him to become knowledgeable and famous.
There is also Kuang Heng "chiseling the wall to steal the light", Kuang Heng was diligent and studious when he was young, but his family was poor, he had to work during the day, and he couldn't light the lamp at night. He carved holes in the walls to attract the light of his neighbors, and read in the faint light. He got up early and studied hard, which created the conditions for him to become a university scholar in the future.
These examples of the ancients fully demonstrate the importance of cherishing time and waking up early. Wake up a little early every day, take care of yourself, eat breakfast, start the day in good spirits, and deal with things in an orderly manner. On the contrary, if you get up late, not only do you not have time to dress up carefully, but you may even not be able to eat breakfast, as the so-called "one step late, one step late", in the anxiety and panic, things are easy to go wrong.
3. Modern examples
For now, if you can wake up half an hour earlier in the morning, you can calmly eat, tidy up, and prepare without worrying about being late; But if you get up late, you won't have time to do this, and if you go out in a hurry, it's easy to get lost, and if you encounter traffic jams, you'll be late, which will make the morning unsmooth, and then affect the mood of the whole day.
Many successful entrepreneurs also have the habit of waking up early. For example, Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, would wake up early every day to exercise and think and prepare for the new day's work. There is also the well-known writer Haruki Murakami, who insists on getting up at four or five o'clock in the morning every day to write, and this habit of waking up early provides him with plenty of time and a quiet environment for his creation.
Among students, classmates who wake up early to study tend to have better grades because they have enough time to study; Students who wake up late may rush to school in a hurry, and then their grades will regress! In addition, waking up early can also allow people to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the morning, and engage in wholesome activities such as morning jogging and yoga to inject vitality and positive spirit into the day.
Fourth, personal perception
Insisting on getting up around six o'clock is not deliberately following the ancient precepts, but thinking that it is more in line with the laws of nature. Waking up early allows me to have a quiet time to think about my plans for the day and read some of my favorite books. During this time, there are no outside distractions, and the thinking is clearer and more efficient.
Savor this saying, it is full of life charm and contains profound wisdom of life. It reminds us to cherish our time, organize our days wisely, and not let ourselves get into a flustered situation because of laziness and procrastination. Only by getting into the habit of waking up early can you better control your life and achieve your goals.
I sincerely hope that we can all deeply understand the true meaning of "getting up early and getting up late", so that every morning will become a new beginning full of hope and vitality, so that our lives will be more fulfilling, wonderful and beautiful because of getting up early!
