He is an alumnus and an art collector
Qi Baishi Wood Carving Art Museum, located opposite the former residence of Qi Baishi in Xiangtan, is reported to have become an important window to display Qi Baishi's culture and art since its establishment in 2017. The venue has invested more than 127 yuan (excluding the value of the collection) and treasured more than 200 pieces of various ancient wood carving works, including more than 20 authentic pieces of Qi Baishi wood carving, especially the wood carving bed and the early lintel carving board are the most representative. These precious collections not only show Qi Baishi's outstanding achievements in the field of wood carving, but also deeply reflect the unique charm of traditional Chinese wood carving art.
During the investigation, the practice team was warmly received by Luo Jie, the director of the Qi Baishi Wood Carving Art Museum. They were pleasantly surprised to find that Luo Jie is not only a member of the Qi Baishi Art Research Association, but also an alumnus of Hunan Light Industry College, the predecessor of Changsha University of Science and Technology. Luo Jie introduced the history of the museum, the characteristics of the collection, and the current challenges and opportunities to the practice team.
"My father was also a carver, so I loved woodcarving from a young age." Luo Jie said that part of the reason for founding Qi Baishi Art Museum is his hobby, but more importantly, it is to inherit and carry forward Qi Baishi's artistic spirit, so that more people can understand and appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese wood carving art. However, in the process of operation, it also faces challenges such as the imbalance between social and economic benefits, and the limited support of the government. Despite this, Luo Jie still sticks to his original intention and is committed to building the art museum into a cultural business card of Xiangtan City and even Hunan Province.
Experience the fun of wood carving and make suggestions for the development of cultural tourism
Liu Jianxin, the leader of the school's practice group and the dean of the School of Literature, Journalism and Communication, sighed during the visit: "Your wood carving collection here is well protected, and the publicity work must also be done well. Afterwards, the students experienced the wood carving production up close under the leadership of the staff, and felt the beauty of art, and team member Zou Yating said that this direct and profound artistic experience made her more aware of the importance of protecting and inheriting intangible cultural heritage. It is not only a respect for history, but also a contribution to the cultural diversity of the future.
The practice team also conducted an in-depth analysis of the operation status, cultural value, and market potential of Qibaishi Wood Carving Art Museum. The team members unanimously agreed that Qi Baishi Wood Carving Art Museum, as an important platform to display traditional Chinese wood carving art, has high cultural value and market potential. In the future, we should further increase publicity efforts and enhance brand awareness; At the same time, strengthen cooperation with the government, enterprises and other parties to jointly promote the development of the cultural tourism industry.
In addition, the practice team also put forward specific suggestions on how to help rural revitalization. They believe that they can rely on the cultural resources of Qi Baishi Wood Carving Art Museum to develop characteristic cultural tourism products; Hold wood carving art exhibitions, seminars and other activities to attract tourists to visit and experience; At the same time, strengthen the linkage development with the surrounding villages, and promote the deep integration of rural tourism and wood carving art.
This research activity not only deepened the practice team's knowledge and understanding of Qibaishi's art and culture, but also provided useful ideas and suggestions for the development of the local cultural tourism industry. After in-depth research, the practice group will also provide detailed publicity planning plans and promotional videos for the Qibaishi Wood Carving Art Museum and various cultural and tourism industries in Xiangtan County. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parties, the Qibaishi Wood Carving Art Museum will become an important force to promote the development of Xiangtan City's cultural tourism industry and help rural revitalization.
