Xiao Ke, this name may have been a little vague in the memory of modern people, but in that war-torn era, he was a hero in the hearts of countless people. He was born in a small town in Jiahe County, Hunan, and his family was relatively well-off. In those turbulent times, it was undoubtedly a blessing to be able to have a relatively wealthy family background. However, instead of indulging in a comfortable life, Xiao Ke chose to embark on a revolutionary path full of thorns.
Influenced by his father since childhood, Xiao Ke developed a strong interest in reading. During the time he was studying in a private school, he always maintained excellent grades. He knew that in that era, reading was an important way for ordinary people to change their fate. Therefore, he studied hard and constantly enriched his knowledge reserves. However, with the changes of the times, Xiao Ke realized that pen and ink alone could not save the country and the nation. Therefore, he resolutely chose to abandon his pen and embark on the road of revolution.
At that time, Xiao Ke did not catch up with the Whampoa Military Academy because of some changes, so he could only be admitted to the Military Police Training Institute of the Military Commission of the National Government first. During his time in the coaching office, Xiao Ke had a very happy learning time. After graduating from the coaching office, he started the curtain of his life as a horseman. Later, Chiang Kai-shek betrayed the revolution, and Xiao Ke saw his true colors, so he made an important decision to join our party!
After joining our party, Xiao Ke has always closely followed the steps of the party and made tremendous contributions to the revolutionary cause of our army. He participated in the Nanchang Uprising and the Southern Hunan Uprising, and experienced countless baptisms of war. On the battlefield, he showed a brave and resourceful military talent. He not only successfully commanded our army in many battles, but also faced the sudden attack of the enemy, quickly found the breakthrough point, and launched a counterattack against the enemy. His bravery and wisdom won the appreciation and trust of the party and the leadership.
During the period of the Red Army, Xiao Ke's military talents were fully displayed. At the age of only 25, he became the commander of the Eighth Army of the Red Army and showed extraordinary leadership skills. He is well aware that as a military commander, he must not only have excellent military command ability, but also be good at uniting and leading troops. Therefore, he paid attention to communication with the soldiers, and cared about their life and ideological dynamics. Under his leadership, the combat effectiveness of the Eighth Army of the Red Army was greatly improved.
Over time, Shaw's position continued to rise. In the War of Resistance Against Japan, he became a partner with Mr. He, he served as the deputy commander of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, it is worth mentioning that among the six commanders of the Eighth Route Army at that time, Xiao Ke was the youngest one, but his strength and experience were not inferior to other predecessors, and he showed outstanding military talent and firm determination to resist Japan. He led his troops to the front line of the war and fought to the death against the enemy. He was adept at using flexible tactics and tactics, and successfully repelled enemy attacks on several occasions. At the same time, he also actively participated in the construction of many anti-Japanese base areas such as Jinchaji and Northwest China, and made great contributions to resisting the Japan invaders.
In the War of Liberation, Xiao Ke also showed outstanding military talent and firm revolutionary convictions. He led his troops into fierce battles with the Kuomintang troops, and repeatedly succeeded in annihilating the enemy's living forces. His bravery and wisdom won the admiration and trust of the soldiers. Under his leadership, our army gradually grasped the initiative in the war and finally won the victory in the war of liberation.
Regrettably, however, at the 1955 ceremony, Shaw was only awarded the rank of general. Despite his outstanding contributions to the military field, perhaps for some unknown reason, he was not able to attain a higher rank. This is undoubtedly a pity for a general who has made great achievements on the battlefield. However, Xiao Ke was not frustrated or dissatisfied by this. He is well aware that military rank is not the only measure of a person's worth. He attaches more importance to his contributions to the party and the people, as well as his achievements in the military cause.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xiao Ke devoted all his efforts to the military education of New China. He is well aware that training a new generation of military personnel is crucial to the future and development of the country. Therefore, he devoted himself to promoting the reform and development of military education, and paid attention to cultivating the actual combat ability and comprehensive quality of the cadets. At the same time, he also used his literary talent to create the novel "Bloody Luoxiao", and won the Mao Dun Literature Award, which is a literary field. He recorded his personal experiences and feelings during the war years with pen and ink, allowing readers to have a deeper understanding of that period of history.
In addition to his outstanding contributions to the country and the military, Shaw was also an affectionate husband and father. He and his wife, Jian Xianfo, had three children together. Unfortunately, two of the children did not grow up for a variety of reasons. This is undoubtedly a huge blow and pain for Xiao Ke. However, he did not give up his love of life and responsibility to his family because of this. He cherished the time with his youngest son Xiao Xinhua even more, and carefully taught him to grow and become a talent.
Under the careful guidance of his parents, Xiao Xinhua gradually grew into an ambitious and responsible young man. He was admitted to Peking University with excellent grades and excelled in his later work. He inherited his father's legacy and was committed to contributing to the development of the country. Eventually, he also became a major general of the armed police, which is the best reward for his parents' education.
Looking back on Xiao Ke's life, we can't help but be moved by his perseverance, loyalty and responsibility. Whether it was in the war-torn era or in the period of peaceful construction, he always adhered to his beliefs and original aspirations, and made great efforts for the establishment and prosperity of New China. His bravery and wisdom won the admiration and praise of countless people, and on October 24, 2008, General Xiao Ke left us forever, and he died in Beijing at the age of 102 due to ineffective medical treatment.
Let's pay tribute to this legendary founding general! His heroic deeds will forever be recorded in the annals of history and will inspire generations to come!
