In 2008, CCTV released the feature documentary "Battle Network Addiction", which made the name "Yang Yongxin" well-known to everyone.
In the eyes of his parents, he is the "Yang Immortal" who pulls his children back from Internet addiction; But in the eyes of children, he is a "smiling demon" in a white coat.
For 13 years, Yang Yongxin electroshock therapy "treated" 7,000 teenagers in Room 13, which became a nightmare for countless people......
At the end of this article, there are reliable sources, and some details are polished, so please read carefully!
General practitioners have gone astray
The "Thirteen Rooms" mentioned above are located in the Internet Rehabilitation Center in Linyi City, Shandong Province, which is the base camp for Yang Yongxin to treat Internet addicts. Before 2008, Yang Yongxin was just an unknown ordinary doctor, and he had nothing to do with the "miracle doctor".
In 1962, Yang Yongxin was born in Linyi, Shandong Province, and is the only child in the family. Perhaps because of his poor family, Yang Yongxin has always been bullied by his classmates since he entered primary school. Either someone put worms in the book, or they were deliberately thrown into the homework book.
Yang Yongxin
Yang Yongxin knew what was going on, there was a person in the village who had a conflict with his parents, and the children were naturally unhappy when they were instigated. But even when he was bullied, Yang Yongxin never turned to his teachers and parents for help, because he knew that suing would not solve the problem.
Yang Yongxin chose to go out of the countryside to stay away from this nightmare place, and he was admitted to Shandong Yishui Medical College at the age of 20. The moment he became a college student, Yang Yongxin did not hesitate to cut off all contact with his parents.
During his four years at university, Yang Yongxin devoted all his energy to his studies, especially psychology and psychiatry. But after graduation, Yang Yongxin was unlucky, although he entered the Fourth People's Hospital of Linyi City as a doctor, but because of his low education, he has always been at the bottom.
In order to climb up, Yang Yongxin took the undergraduate degree of Jining Medical College, and after graduation, he returned to the hospital to concentrate on studying his "old profession" mental illness. After 20 years of ups and downs, Yang Yongxin was finally promoted to the director of the ward, and his life also ushered in a change.
That day, Yang Yongxin's clinic was greeted by a weeping parent who begged him to save his 12-year-old son, who was addicted to the Internet. Thinking of the electroshock therapy that he has been studying for many years, Yang Yongxin has a flash of inspiration in his mind, maybe this can really make people quit Internet addiction!
This experience woke Yang Yongxin up, and he decided to break away from the hospital and open up his own "new track" in the domestic Internet addiction market. In January 2006, Yang Yongxin established the Linyi Internet Rehabilitation Center, and the nightmare of thousands of boys and girls began......
The white-clothed devil is a saint who quits the net?
Yang Yongxin's Internet Rehabilitation Center, whose main business is electroshock therapy, will receive "treatment" in Room 13. The configuration here is outrageously simple, except for an ordinary medical bed and a chair, which is a "scarecrow" with a pestle in the corner.
The true face of "Scarecrow" is a low-frequency electronic pulse therapy instrument, which is Yang Yongxin's secret magic weapon to make Internet addicted teenagers obedient. No matter how rebellious a child is, once he comes into contact with a "scarecrow", he will become honest, after all, no one wants to be repeatedly shocked.
And the broadcast of the CCTV documentary "Battle Network Addiction" in 2008 made Yang Yongxin famous in one fell swoop and attracted a large number of "students" to him. In the documentary, Yang Yongxin, who is wearing a white coat, faces the camera and sternly explains the dangers of online games.
"Games are the same as drugs like heroin, and some of the manifestations of their addiction should be said to be very similar, and it is difficult to distinguish them from some of the symptoms of schizophrenia."
Yang Yongxin's words convinced the parents, and with the double halo of "Shandong Provincial Moral Model Candidate" and "State Council Special Allowance Expert", no one would question the credibility of his remarks. In contrast, however, the children who were sent in suffered.
It turned out that with the rise in popularity of Yang Yongxin's Internet Ring Center, its "business scope" has also expanded to early love, fights, homosexuality and other fields. But all the "bad habits" identified by the parents, Yang Yongxin treated them correctly and sent them all to the thirteenth room.
One of them is 22-year-old Wu Xuying, who was kidnapped by her father at half past two in the morning on December 13, 2007 because she was in love. Because of a physical altercation with her father, Wu Xuying was identified as "mentally ill" and was forced to undergo electroshock therapy.
In "Battlenet Demon", Wu Xuying's experience was deliberately hidden, and she was completely packaged as a rebellious girl who was violent to her father. But according to Wu Xuying's own recollection, the reason why she took the initiative to "admit her mistake" at that time was completely telegraphed by Yang Yongxin.
In the forty minutes in the thirteenth room, Wu Xuying was electrocuted at least 20,000 times by Yang Yongxin's strong current, and the intense pain caused by the electric shock made her have to choose to compromise. However, Wu Xuying is not alone, and the boy Huang He almost lost his life in the Internet Ring Center.
The reason why Huang He was sent in was simple: because he frequently went to Internet cafes to play games, his parents entrusted him to Yang Yongxin for help. If Wu Xuying was kidnapped, then the Yellow River is undoubtedly even worse, he was forcibly brought over by his parents after pouring 12 sleeping pills.
Huang He had long heard of the Internet Rehabilitation Center, and when Yang Yongxin asked for "Internet Stopping", the first thing that came to his mind was to escape from this gloomy place. However, Yang Yongxin is not a vegetarian, and when he saw that Huang He refused to obey, he simply asked people to block him.
Four or five cadets in camouflage uniforms rushed out and pressed the emaciated Huang He to the ground, and he was dragged into Room 13 a few minutes later and subjected to electric shock treatment for about half an hour. The feeling of crawling like thousands of insects crawling around the temples will never be forgotten by the Yellow River.
Yang Yongxin's treatment process is exactly like this, forcing the child to give in through increasing currents, and humiliating the child's personality with various unbearable words during the process. How would those parents know? The child will "become well-behaved", all because of the fear of pain!
The Cyber Rehabilitation Center was turned into a "concentration camp" by Yang Yongxin, with a strict management system and students calling each other "allies". On the surface, it is for them to supervise each other, but in fact, they acquiesce to the students to make small reports to each other to achieve the purpose of absolute control.
Ill-conceived speech, self-injurious tendencies, and overly intimate relationships with allies...... Yang Yongxin has set up as many as 70 rules and regulations, but most of the behaviors are not inappropriate in the eyes of ordinary people. However, in the Internet Ring Center, these are all regarded by Yang Yongxin as "rebellious" actions.
In media interviews, Yang Yongxin has repeatedly attributed Internet addiction to mental illness, and electroshock therapy is the only "savior" to save Internet addicted teenagers. And even though they knew that a child had committed suicide in the Internet Rehabilitation Center, parents continued to send their children here, and one mother once said this:
"I've seen all the reports, but as a parent of a child, I'm not wrong about sending my child here."
According to research, the maximum current that the human body can withstand is no more than 3 milliamperes, but the electric shock intensity that Yang Yongxin misses can reach 10 milliamperes at its highest. Moreover, the equipment he used for electric shocks was aimed at manic psychotic convulsive patients, and even hospitals did not dare to use them indiscriminately.
But Yang Yongxin never cared about this, even if the children were electrocuted to the point that their palms and foreheads were bleeding, he would not reduce the intensity of the electric shock. The children have completely become "livestock" to be slaughtered in Room 13, and if they resist, they will be electrocuted to the point of losing consciousness, and there is no freedom at all.
After years of accumulation, Yang Yongxin summed up the Internet addiction treatment model of "psychology + drug + physics + industry and entertainment". Every night at six o'clock, the children must hand in the "gratitude diary" written that day, and anyone who dares to take the opportunity to vomit bitterness will be immediately dragged back to the thirteenth room with an electric shock.
Therefore, those parents will not think about how much mental pressure their children are carrying when they cry and read their diaries in the psychological review class. The tears that flood down are actually the despair and pain of the children, but how can parents see it?
Yang Yongxin's treatment fee is not low, based on 6,000 a month, a total of 20,004 for four months. However, thinking of the high cure rate of 96%, parents are willing to send their children here for "transformation" even if they smash pots and sell iron, but they don't know that this is actually harming their children.
The devil is not gone, and the shadow is still there
Of course, Yang Yongxin's good days didn't last long, and everything ended in 2009. With the exposure of CCTV's "Economic Half Hour", "Yang Immortal" Yang Yongxin fell from the altar, and his Internet Ring Center was finally forced to shut down due to a number of illegal operations.
According to the investigation, Yang Yongxin's Internet Ring Center has earned as much as 81 million yuan in income from buying books and giving speeches in the three years since its establishment. What is surprising is that Yang Yongxin not only disappeared after that, but became more and more "superior" in the upper echelons of the hospital.
In 2021, some netizens posted a blog to disclose an explosive news that Yang Yongxin reappeared at the Linyi Mental Health Center Conference as the "Vice President of the Fourth People's Hospital of Linyi City". This time, he changed his routine and extended his claws to depression.
Yang Yongxin and his friends applied for a patent called "Chinese medicine for depression", claiming that the drug could completely cure depression in 10 days. What's even more absurd is that Yang Yongxin has published more than 100 papers using previous cases of electric shock, including three SCIs.
Yang Yongxin doesn't seem to be affected in any way, he is still thriving, but the lives of the children he persecuted have been completely ruined. After the boy Xiao Zhang was discharged from the hospital, he suffered from severe depression, and he did not dare to have children after dating his girlfriend for many years, and even committed suicide by swallowing medicine.
There is also a mother in Heilongjiang, after taking her daughter home from the Internet Rehabilitation Center, the backlash befell her. The daughter tied her mother to a chair and starved for eight days and eight nights, watching the other die. After the father returned to call the police, the daughter said expressionlessly:
"I killed her, I don't regret it."
It seems that in the eyes of some parents, children are "accessories" to them, and all actions against the will of their parents are regarded as great rebellion. But children also have their own lives, they will eventually fly high, and family affection should not become a cage that imprisons freedom.
Have parents ever thought about it? Children with internet addiction aren't necessarily really bad, and gaming is just a "safe haven" for them to escape from reality. Behind the addiction to virtual networks is the desire of countless children for family harmony and parental companionship, which is what parents should really realize.
