"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Vice President Chen Zhijun, the medical team of the department and Dr. Zhao Peng, who made my journey to medical treatment smoother, and you also made me feel like family in a hospital 5,000 kilometers away." Recently, when Aunt Bi from Aktao County, Xinjiang, was discharged from the hospital, she thanked the medical team of the Nuclear Medicine Department of Jiangxi Provincial Cancer Hospital (the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang Medical College) and Zhao Peng, a doctor from Aktao County People's Hospital.
A physical examination reveals thyroid cancer
Doctors in Xinjiang were rescued and successfully operated
The family initially decided to take her to a major hospital for surgical treatment, but she heard that her colleague had recovered well after surgery in the local Aktao County People's Hospital by Zhao Peng, a doctor from Jiangxi Province, so she came to the ENT Department of the hospital with anxiety to consult with Zhao Peng, deputy chief physician.
After Zhao Peng carefully checked the relevant reports, he said that Aunt Bi's surgery could be done in the county hospital, and Aunt Bi's hanging heart slowly relaxed. After hearing that the reimbursement rate of medical insurance for surgery in the local area is larger, which can greatly save medical costs, and seeing the pennants on the wall of the doctor's office, she strengthened her determination to operate in the county hospital.
After being admitted to the hospital, the preoperative examination was perfected, and Zhao Peng performed "total thyroidectomy + bilateral cervical lymph node dissection" for her. The surgery went very well and I was discharged from the hospital 6 days after the surgery.
Subsequent treatment with iodine-131 was blocked
Not far from Jiangxi
Since Aunt Bi's postoperative pathology report was "bilateral papillary thyroid carcinoma with bilateral cervical lymph node metastasis", further iodine-131 treatment was required after surgery. However, iodine-131 treatment has a certain degree of radiation, and the requirements for the grade of medical places are very strict, and only one hospital in the whole of Xinjiang has carried out such a project. When Aunt Bi came to the hospital full of hope, but heard that the iodine-131 treatment would be arranged for 3 months later, she could only return to the Aktao County People's Hospital to seek help from Dr. Zhao Peng with disappointment, telling about the difficulties of seeking medical treatment and the fear of delaying the best treatment time. After hearing this, Zhao Peng asked her if she would like to go to the Jiangxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, where she was dispatched, to receive iodine-131 treatment. Aunt Bi and her family rekindled their hope and immediately expressed their willingness to go to Jiangxi for treatment.
Zhao Peng then had an online consultation with Chen Zhijun, vice president of Jiangxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, through the remote consultation system. After reading the patient's information, Chen Zhijun said that he met the principle of postoperative iodine-131 treatment, and when he heard that the patient wanted to travel thousands of miles to Jiangxi for treatment, he immediately said that he would open a green channel to arrange treatment for him as soon as possible.
Aunt Bi immediately went to Jiangxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, and Chen Zhijun immediately arranged for her to be admitted to the hospital, and formulated a treatment plan with the department team. Because the patient needed to be admitted to the isolation ward for iodine-131 treatment, and was afraid that Aunt Bi would not be suitable for the afar, the medical team of the department not only did their best in treatment, but also took care of them in life.
It lasted half a month, and the treatment effect was satisfactory. When Aunt Bi was discharged from the hospital, she and her family specially presented a pennant of "Superb medical skills spread to the Quartet, and Jiangxi and Tao are one family" to thank the nuclear medicine team for their meticulous care and meticulous treatment.
