Guan Yu (about 162 - 220 years), the word Yunchang, the original character Changsheng, was born in Xie County, Hedong County, was a famous general of the Three Kingdoms, known for his loyalty and bravery, and later generations respected as the "martial saint".
Guan Yu, Liu Bei, and Zhang Fei left many famous allusions, such as Taoyuan Three Knots, Three Heroes vs. Lu Bu, Wenjiu Beheading Huaxiong, Passing Five Passes and Beheading Six Generals, etc.
During the Three Kingdoms period, Hedong County and Xie County roughly corresponded to the current Yuncheng area of Shanxi Province.
Specifically, there may be slight differences in the location of Xie County:
- Some sources indicate that Xie County is located in the area of Chengdong Village and Chengxi Village in Linjin Town, Linyi County, Shanxi Province.
- Other sources mention that the specific location of Xie County is in Jiezhou Town, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province.
- There is also a theory that the location of Xie County is on the line between Yongji and Linyi.
However, in general, Xie County of Hedong County is roughly located in the area of what is now Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, and may include the area of Linyi County and Jiezhou Town.
