Nike Pegasus Plus will be released on August 8, paying tribute to the original Pegasus Turbo

At the Pegasus 41 launch event, Nike announced that it would release a new pair of running shoes, the Pegasus Plus. Recently, foreign media have reported that the appearance is very similar to the Pegasus Turbo Super Pegasus released in 2018, which is said to be a tribute to the Pegasus Turbo Super Pegasus.

The legend of the Pegasus Turbo Super is long, but its lifespan is short. The first generation of the Pegasus Turbo came out in 2018, followed by the Turbo 2 in 2019. At the time, both versions were a favorite of many runners.

The midsole features the revolutionary ZoomX foam found in Vaporfly and is embedded with a panel made of React foam, creating a running shoe unlike any other at the time. Lightweight, fast, and just the right amount of elasticity.

With its bold styling and smooth running experience, it has become a favorite of many running enthusiasts. Although Nike also launched the Turbo Nature later, the performance of this shoe in the market is not very good.

It's been five years since Nike launched the Super Pegasus 2 in 2019, and the men's world record has been broken twice (once with Jeepchoge and once with Kiptum), both wearing Nike's Super Racing carbon plate running shoes.

Over the course of these five years, each brand has launched carbon plate racing shoes that rival Nike's Vaporfly and Alphafly, as well as super trainers with premium foam and carbon fiber plates, so the relaunch of the Nike Turbo (aka Pegasus Plus) isn't as exciting as it was three or four years ago.

The PEGASUS PLUS upper features a Flyknit woven upper with tighter and looser weaves in key areas. The signature nylon center stripe echoes the original Turbo. Flywire was replaced with an internal felt webbing. The Pegasus Plus midsole features an integrated ZoomX midsole. THE HEEL IS 35 MM THICK, THE FOREFOOT IS 25 MM THICK, AND THE FOREFOOT DROP IS 10MM.

The shoe feels light on the foot, but the cushioning is not very good. It feels more like a shoe that was launched four years ago. If you like more ground feel and agility, you'll love Plus's agility. The Streakfly are the two closest pairs of running shoes to the Pegasus Plus.

Both use a full-length ZoomX midsole. While the Streakfly has a thinner midsole thickness than the Pegasus Plus, the extra thick layer of rubber on the outsole under the forefoot makes the Streakfly feel softer at the back of the toes.

The upper fits very well from the heel to the top of the midfoot. This means that the upper is comfortable and stable even without a gusset tongue, especially for narrow feet.

The outsole is made of a large amount of abrasion-resistant rubber in the front and back of the outsole, and the midfoot is exposed with ZoomX foam.

The 44.5 yard weighs 267 grams.

The Pegasus Plus has a soft midsole, and since the midsole foam on the forefoot is a bit thinner, runners with a backfoot will like it, while a runner with a mid-forefoot landing may not like it. Runners who love the Invincible and want to opt for a lighter daily training shoe may enjoy this shoe. These shoes are suitable for any race under the half marathon.
